Invited me to an interview

- Salt Lake City, UT, USA • Feb 29, 2024

In early January 2024 I responded to an offer of employment from a fraudulent staffing agency add (Scion Staffing) sent to me through Whatsapp on my cell phone. It was for a part-time position for a company with the web address of www.themanifest-grow.cc.

The company claims to have an office in Washington DC with a CEO by the name of Mike Beares.

They are an internet application optimization job scheme - lots of those companies out there. I proceeded to connect to a "trainer" named Hailey through the internet platform which required a small deposit of USDT to begin the "task" of optimizing cell phone apps to make them appear better in the ratings on the app stores. Through clicking on a few buttons the platform purchases apps and includes utilization so they appear better than they really are. After task completion, the "deposit" is returned to my bank plus commissions.

I made over $1000 USD in a couple days but as soon as I deposited more funds, the tasks became more and more expensive ultimately requiring over 200k in funds to deposit before I could get my money back. All in all I'm over 300K into this and although I completed the requirements of the platform, now the administrators will not give me my money back. The "customer service" on the platform claims that I didn't meet all their criteria for a deposit yet I have conversational and screenshot proof that I did.

I want to do my part to make sure there are not any more victims of this fraudulent platform.

The Company, Neovii is real, and they are advertising for this position. (I think in Germany) after I sent Mrs. Jennifer Slatter, the text and a time preference for the next day - I was "ping" via chat and asked if I could answer questions now. After a long back and forth, for this online position - while they were waiting for the grand opening of a new location in my area - I was then asked to wait 10 minutes and would be told if I received job. I was hired. How did I want to receive payment? by check or Direct Deposit? Weekly or bi-weekly? I asked to see employment contract, I9, W4 type paperwork and was told by 8 am next day the person who would be my supervisor would produce all the materials. Again how did I want to receive payment. The next morning at 9 I was pinged again and asked if I was ready to begin. I indicated that I had questions as this appeared to be fraudulent. When ask what I meant I proceeded to list all the not quite right ways, things were done. Never heard back.

I applied for a WFH (work from home) position through indeed for a customer representative at Brent Johnson design. I was approached via email by a Nancy Grant. [email protected]

She told me I was qualified for the position and to reach out via signal to a Bridget Jackson using the id 515-851-0766 . I reached out to bridget, she was giving me minimal information about the job and told me I would be receiving a check to purchase what I needed to work for this company. She set me up an appointment for the following morning at 9am. I did receive the check, I did not cash it., and I reached out to bridget with a screenshot of a similar scam experience, she did not respond. I researched this company, and similar experiences and decided to put a hault to this. I've never heard of anyone just sending a check and after seeing some similar experiences, I assume this is a scam.

I saw a job ad on LinkedIn and applied. I received an email from the email provided. They set up an interview via Slack and the first red flag was it was a text interview. They sent a website where I had to send them personal information (SSN and ID). I unfortunately was naive and did so hoping that this wasn't a scam. They were convincing and at first glance so is their website. They then wanted me to use ID.me and a scammer prior had tried to get me to use that. I let them know I wouldn't do any of that until I had an interview via video and could ensure it wasn't a scam. They did not receive a response to that. Attached is the conversation.

The scammer reached out about a job offer to work from home and did an interview by a telegram app after we did the interview I was informed I got the job pay was $25 an hour with benefits and I would need to purchase the equipment for $199.99 and send payment by Zelle, PayPal, cash app or Apple Pay. Eva Yepez is the person impersonating concentrix asked for my name address phone number and email which I provided and immediately got an email with an acceptance letter. I got concerned as Eva yepez immediately kept asking for the $199.99 so I could start work immediately. I looked up the number to concentrix and was told that concentrix doesn’t ask for money they supply the equipment and will have an agent reach out about employment. I hope no one else falls for this

Hi! Are you having fun? I'm Hannah Polston a Recruitment Officer from Flexjops and we are looking for part time/ full time staff and freelancers. Can I share more information with you?

- Lake Arthur, LA, USA • Feb 27, 2024

Says her name is Eva Yepez and that she works for concentrix and will be doing an interview with me through an app called telegram! We did the interview she told me I got the job which was supposed to be data entry clerk! Part time making $25 and hour ! She asked for me name, phone number and email address! She then tells me I will need to send her $199.99 for the software ! Also she told me that Will wil be receiving a laptop, keyboard, headphones, WiFi and a time tracker ! So I sent the $199.99 to the email address through PayPal told me it didn’t go through them said it did but got refunded so I sent it again with a different email address she gave me ! A few days went by she sent me a message telling me my equipment was stuck in customs and I needed to clear it by sending another $300 to her and made sure she said you will get refunded the $300 and the $199.99 you sent ! I proceeded to tell her I wasn’t sending her any more money she was ugly with me ! Then all of a sudden she said your equipment is on its way ! Well equipment never got here and that’s when I started noticing something wasn’t right ! Yesterday she asked for my online banking info so she could send me my training money and refund also said it will be more then what you need just send the money back ! Well I gave her my info my bank then emails me to say they refused deposit! Thats when I found out I was getting scammed ! She screenshot me this morning about how my money was in my account and why I changed my password on Facebook

They approach asking to joint a business where you can earn money by doing click to add rating to different hotels and VRBO places, they identify as part of VRBO and claim to be helping the employees to make money, by completing 2 task per day of 30 clicks each task, once done you claim back your deposit of $101 and then they give you commissions of 0.7% of any amount you add, and add “combo task” that can be suddenly for you to add more money to complete the task in order for you to withdraw the money. They promise to give you $800 for the 5 continue working days and $3800 for 15 and $1500 after 30 days. The 2nd day my balance turns negative asking for -145.66, due that I earned $100 I send the money; and they allowed me to take out my money, the 3rd day it was negative by for -324.49 and I had to put the money again to take it it out, the 4th day was no combo tasks or negative amounts; but then the 5th day I finished the first set of task and the $800 was deposited, I asked if I can transfer it back to my account to only complete the last 2nd round with the minimum needed which is $101, and they said no transfer can be done unless you complete the 2nd round of tasks. So I started the 2nd round of task; but during the 17/30 task; the balance turned negative -685.62 and if I want to take out all my money then I had to put that difference. So I did it, only because I just wanted my money back, but again in the 19/30 task, it asked me back for -$1405, which then I thought if they only have two combos, this is the last one and I should be able to take it out, but again I was wrong, after the task 20/30 it turns negative again with a negative balance of -$4942.16

That was it; I then stop and find out their web had only 2 weeks old they claim that they canines give me my money back until I finish the task. Which I won’t test, they also said their web change once a month for maintenance. They are a bunch thieves and should be exposed as that do don’t let anyone have fall on their game as I did.

Scammer claimed to be Hannah Polston, a recruiter from Flexjobs, trying to get me to do an interview on Whatsapp. Claimed I could get paid $30 -$50 just for the interview. Very evasive/vague about what the job actually was and would not tell me the name of the employer.
