Someone call my mobile today May 30th about 12:00 noon central time, and offered me government Grant to pay bills, and the condition is to have HS diploma, I said YES , than he hanged up?

- Euclid, OH, USA

I received a call on my cell phone today. My caller ID showed District of Columbia with phone number 202-813-0056 Caller stated that I qualify for a $9000 Government Grant. It was free. I did not have to pay it back. I qualify because I pay my taxes. Government is helping families. Asked me what I would do with the $9000. I thought something is not right here. They did not ask me for money. Asked me to call back. They were getting the paperwork together. Advised to call and speak with John Scott in the Accounts Dept. 202-813-0056 X 1447. I called the phone number back. John Scott answered. He asked me if I would like to be direct deposit or do Western Union. I said I want cash. They would send it to me Western Union. I asked how much did I have to pay to get the $9000. He did not give me a dollar figure. I did not send any money or give personal information.

Someone called me and said his name was Benny from the Government Grant office. He said that I had won $1,900 grant. To get that money I would have to pay $199 through any 7-Eleven, King Soopers, or Walgreens to submit the money gram through Western Union.

How dumb could I really be for this to happen.. I am that stupid then. But got a phone call saying I got a 9,000 grant and needed to register by paying $250 but buy buying iTunes gift cards then saying to finish getting the application and to receive the money I'd have to pay $450 for the first half then $450 when I get the other half.... god I am so ashamed. And I seen someone standing on the side of the road needing gas and I couldn't think that I'd rather of gave all that money to that man than for it to go to scammers

Received calls from what was said to be a government agency with grants available to me. The caller had a heavy Mid East accent. On the first call, I asked to be removed from the call list. I received calls at 11:29 am, 11:39 am, 11:44 am, 12:49 pm, 12:59 pm, 1:10 pm, 1:20 pm, 1:38 pm, 1:45 pm, and 1:54 pm. I reported all the calls to donotcall.gov.

- San Francisco, CA, USA

I was called from a person who identified themselves as someone calling from the US Government from Washington, DC and told I was randomly selected to receive a government grant of $9,200. They asked to verify some of my personal information. I asked for a call back number so I could verify them. I was given to a supervisor. Again I asked for a call back number or website to verify them. The supervisor gave me the web site http://www.governmentgrants.com/. It says on the website that they are not affiliated with the US government. This is a scam. Beware!

I received this call first time was back in the middle of December 2016 from 202-616-0673. I picked up they said I qualified for $9,000 grant, they had my name and address, just didn't have my age, and they explained how I qualified you never filed bankruptcy, your name went into our machine and your name was picked for this government grant. He gave me an account #JF47475, the other account #JM111 I received today, 5-22-17 to call 347-325-1382. I called the number and the other guy I talked to said we can either send it through your banking account, we can send you a check to your house or you can receive it UPS. Then they said we need a balance of $1.75 for shipping and handling. I hung up on them. They have been calling randomly and I was not answering. They leave a message saying you qualify for a grant, and to call this number, the main number that they are  calling from always changing, one from Florida, another from Texas and another Mississippi or Massachusetts. There is always a foreign accent. When they call you they tell you your name went in through the government, and it went through the machine and that your name was picked out from the machine. The gentleman that called me and gave my account number he called me about 20 minutes later to see if I had called the 347 number and I said no. He called while on the phone with ScamPulse.com and he said his name was Robert with the United States Treasury Department and the number he was calling from showed up as 1085 (it didn't have the rest of the phone number).

Then I was to call this federal bank in Washington and he would give me my my transaction number to get money and before I could get it I had to buy 400.00 dollar iTunes cards to pay for them giving me the money and said I would get that back also after I got money am I going to lose my money I already have invested are is this legal. I still have the iTunes card but are they good

773-302-2733 calling saying they were the Federal Government Grants and I won $9000. Just need to send $250 by iTunes gift card.

- Cleveland, OH, USA

I received a phone call offering a $9000 Government Grant. The caller was difficult to understand. Caller said it was not a loan. I would never have to pay it back. Just as long as I did not have any felonies in the past six months. Requested $250 registration fee to obtain the grant. Wanted me to get some type of pre-paid card and put $250. Caller stated the $250 would be refunded when I received the $9000. They would send the $9000 grant Western Union. I did not send any money. I wanted to wait and call the ScamPulse.com.

wanting to give me a loan and apparently knew I had a personal loan?

Someone called me saying I was chosen out of 1500 people to get 9000.00 all I had to do was send 250.00 to get it. SCAM!

- Sanford, NC, USA

The person that kept calling me name was Aaron Carter (if that is his real name)

He will call you everyday to let you know that you have been approved for a grant loan and tell you when you have applied for one. He will begin to give you two options. Either direct deposit or check come in the mail 10-12 business days. If you go by check then he will ask if you have at least $3.00 to cover shipping and handling. If you go by direct deposit, he would ask you if you have 4 or 5 dollars on your card to make sure your card is correct. Once you give him permission to get your information that is on your card, then he will perceive to withdraw money from your account.

My husband received the first call on 5-8-17 around 11:40a.m. from 323-208-0249 on the caller ID it showed up as Washington DC. They told him that he had been picked out of the database somewhere for the government grant he said he was qualified for it because he doesn't have a criminal record. He said his name was Alex Brown. He said you are eligible for a $14,000 grant from the government and he said you don't have to pay it back and you can use it for whatever you wanted. He said he could use the money for anything he wanted, but if he bought anything illegal or done anything illegal they would take the money and call the proper authorities, he said this was confidential. He told him we didn't have any money, what he wanted was for us to get $100 go to store and load money on an I-Tune card to call him once we had the card, and he told him that he would have the $14,000 within 5-10 minutes, my husband has a debit card. He gave him a debit card number. We went to a store and called him three times, he asked if we had bought the card yet, and I asked him are we supposed to put the money on the card, and he said yes. We came home and he called again and he was telling my husband that he was going to take money out of his pocket and put it on my husband's card. They told him to just go home and wait for him to call, and he just called about an hour ago (about 2:30pm). Then the man told my husband to get $100 to put on his debit card, and my husband kept telling him I don't have any money, I don't have any money. He told him once he got that arranged to call him back.

I received a messenger communication on Facebook that I thought was my friend. He stated he received a Government Grant $15,000 for $300 that was the lowest price. Funds were to be sent by Moneygram to Ana Yanet Soto in Los Angeles, CA. I am also receiving text messages. I kind of figured it was a scam. Did not seem logical. I did not send any money. The communication started April 18, 2017.

- Delaware, OH, USA

I received a telephone call last week from a gentleman asking for my name and that I entitled to a grant fund from the United States government for grant money totaling $9,000.00. I said that this is a scam. He stated that if you think this is a scam then hang up. I figured I would play along with this gentleman. He stated that he would transfer me to a supervisor who stated the same thing as the first caller. I was to go to Walgreens or Walmart to put money on a card. At that time I told the caller that I worked at Walmart and that we didn't have those types of cards. He said I didn't say Walmart, I said Rite Aid, Walgreens or Dollar General. He then hung up the phone. (His name was Gary Wilson, GG2097 is a number that I was given as my account number).
