Consumer had a message left for him from someone claiming to be from IRS. The number he said that called him is 206-445-0569. He listened to the voicemail. It did not give the amount, just to return the call.

I received a phone call from  the "IRS" saying I had a lawsuit pending against me and must pay $ or I'll be sued by IRS. I told them the IRS would contact me by mail and they were a scam. They hung up on me.

Recently, I received a call from a foreign speaking person indicating that the IRS was filing a lawsuit; he said a call to 346-971-6385 needed to be made as soon as possible. Questioned the person as to why correspondence was not received; person said it was sent; told them nothing from IRS was received and asked what address it was sent to; he put me on hold, he returned and then gave an address. Person did not provide the complete correct address and when I indicated that it was not the complete address, he hung up. I called the number he had provided and the recording stated " the individual you are trying to reach is unavailable at this time." I called again; phone rang but no one answer. I call the FBI to report the incident and was told it did sound like a scam; they asked if any money was provided; told them no and they provided the telephone number to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to provide info to them. I called the FTC, reported the incident and was given an incident case number. On 11/9 at 2:17pm, I received a recorded message this time indicating that the IRS was filing a lawsuit; no name was given as to whom the IRS lawsuit was against; recording indicated that a call needed to be made to 346-971-6385 asap; which is the same number provided by the person who called previously. As information, it is the same telephone number that shows up on our called ID. I called the number and received the same recorded message as indicated above.

I work at the front desk at AARP. I received a phone call that was a recording stating it was the IRS and they must receive a phone call back as soon as possible to avoid arrest. The phone number they left was 315-636-5362.

I received phone call from the IRS, and was told they'd previously sent letters.  I never received them. "IRS" told me that I owed $5,500 from an incorrect tax filing in 2010. Sounded very convincing. I did not give them any information or send them any money.

Phone Call from 703-348-7805 saying they are from the IRS and failure to return the call would result in a lawsuit. Person on phone line had a Indian accent, or not a native english speaking accent. I did not give them information because I suspected that it was a scam.

I received several calls this week from a number that originated in Bobota, Columbia. It was a recording that said this was my last chance. The IRS was going to file a lawsuit on me about my taxes. They gave me a number to call back 571-599-8178. I never called the number back. My cell indicated that the original call came from Bogota, Columbia. When I called that back it was a recording in a different language. I just hung up!

Received a really rude phone call from a guy with an accent saying he was Officer Jones and we owed the IRS $3,000 and if we didn't pay within 72 hours, a police officer named Officer White would come and take us away in cuffs to the court house. He added we should pay be voucher, not check.

Yeah, right buddy! Let me talk to Officer Smith while we're making up names! He also gave a false badge number, address, and 800 number. I asked him for the phone number he was calling on now (which was a 320 area code number). He told me he didn't have to tell me. I asked him again for the number he called me on and he hung up. I could hear another guy in the background on the phone too. Trying to scam someone else!
