i was called multiple times by the "IRS" stating i owed over 4,000 dollars in federal taxes, and that i had a law suit against me. They also informed me i had a case number and a warrant out for my arrest and the only way get my name off the "Black List" was to pay 200 dollar in the next 2 hours. they stated i could spend up to 5 years in federal prison. stupidly i paid the amount in gift cards to which he then informed me that i had to pay an additional 700 dollars. the name he gave me was Justin Wood.

The first call I missed and the voice mail said they were going after my property and jail time for me. The second call I answered and the gentlemen responded with " this is the it's and we are taking action against you for unpaid taxes".

Received an automated message stating there was a warrant out for my arrest due to tax fraud. I called back and was told if I make a payment in good judgement for the sum of $1000.00 they would cease the warrant.

I was asked to place the $1000.00 in a Target gift card. I only did $400.00 and called back. They said they were going to verify the amount and then they said they stopped the warrant. I call my local police department and they told me this is somewhat common.

A man with a heavy accent called and told me I was being sued by the Internal Revenue Service. He gave me his IRS badge number. When I questioned him what the charges were for, he stakes he couldn't tell me because my papers were at the court house. He told me I owed $7,652 and I needed to tell them how I was going to pay this amount. I told them I had never received any paperwork and I wanted to know what they were charging me with. I asked to speak to his supervisor and the same guy got on the phone and gave me a different name. I told him I would not pay so he told me he was calling the cops to issue a warrant for tax evasion and hung up on me. I did not give any personal information, but he was definitely fishing. Please be aware of these people.

I have received other phone calls like this one telling me that I would be arrested due to something with the IRS if I did not call back. When I told them it was a scam, they threatened that I would be arrested.

My wife & I both received phone calls at the same time on the morning of 6/28/17. Guy claiming he was from government entity of some sort I think it was about gov grant. He said he was calling from Wash DC. I'm sure his accent was from India or Pakistan & had a hard time understanding him. Anyway, no caller ID on phone logs. None; just said private number on my phone & unknown number on wife's phone.

I could not add to call reject list on phone cause it didn't have a number. It must not be a Robo call cause no number at all. This one was weird

cause no number on caller ID.

Someone claiming to be from the IRS keeps calling me & leaving messages stating that I supposedly have a warrant for my arrest if I don't contact them immediately. When I do no one speaks. So this is why I'm notifying the BBB. Thank you very very much.

Automated voicemail message indicated that the IRS was filing a lawsuit because I attempted to commit fraud against IRS and they were issuing an arrest warrant.

Scammers called yesterday 5 times leaving messages for a return call in reference to taxes. When I called back they didn't state their name. When he asked for my name they hung up.

Call appeared to be coming in from Lampass, TX, and 2 messages left (2.5 hours apart), stating that "the IRS has issued an arrest warrant against you and your physical property and you are being monitored and it's very important that I do hear back from you as soon as possible before we proceed further in any legal manner." Message is a robotic female voice, and asks that I call back.

Two calls were received in two days, one from the phone number listed above (540.699.8870) and one from another number (361.209.8670). These calls were made to a local resident on her cell phone. She called in this scam to the Meridian Chamber of Commerce. She was told that money was owed to the IRS and needed to be paid immediately.

IRS SCAM....I'm reporting this one because of the fact that I already knew it was a scam but I want other people to know....

1) a pre-recorded robot voice telling you to call back from the very phone number it's calling you from

2) the number that you are calling is not in your area

if anyone knows anything about the IRS they never call you they always mail you something!

3) if and when you do call if you have to ask is this the IRS

4) the person on the other end is a foreigner and you won't be able to hear in that well because of all the voices in the background of all the other people that they are trying to scam

if you decide to stay on the line long enough to listen to all the Jibber Jabber ask them politely what state are you calling from or ask them questions they'll quickly hang up
