When looking up passport renewal, this company poses as the first step in renewing your passport. They pose as the passport application process and make it seem as if you are applying with the government for a passport. They then require you to pay 65 dollars to get your application.

I thought that I was filling out the application for a passport renewal. They have all my info, birthdate. SS#, everything!!

- Millville, NJ, USA • Jun 25, 2024

Fraudulent website impersonating a government website for submitting passport application. Website design obscures disclaimers and does not have contact information or customer support. Asked for all personal information. Also charged me for accidental loss of said passport, making it sound more believable that I was at the correct website and not a scam.

The website is the first return when searching to apply for or renew a passport. It seemed like a legitimate website for passport renewal but all they do is provide the template that is available on the .gov website for free and charge $67.88 for it, which I thought was a passport renewal fee, it was not, it’s a fee for them to email you a pdf of the free template they took from the .gov website.

Website posed as a way to renew passport online. Requested very sensitive information including the names and birthdays of my parents and spouse. Claimed to have an "ssl" secured site to protect credit card information and other personal information. Site had ease of use, proper grammar, and perceived security measures. An email confirmation was sent promptly which resembled an official document to be sent in to renew a passport. I was able to identify the scam as the email indicated an addition $130 be paid when sending in my passport for renewal, on top of the $88.83 that I already paid to the website.

I was trying to renew my passport. I thought I was being charged $97 for the passport renewal fee, but it is a charge for them to complete an auto-fill form, and you still have to pay $130 for the passport after you send the package.

I went to renew my passport and the website was a sponsored ad that I thought was the state department website. AFTER filling out the renewal forms I realized I only paid to fill out forms and nothing more. I emailed the company to check things out and some guy named Jake responded that I was simply paying for a helpful user-friendly form filler service to avoid having to fill out forms with pen and paper. Afterwards, I managed to go on the ACTUAL state department website and they perform the save service at no charge. Unfortunately,I already submitted my personal info but fortunately didn't send my passport off to the passport renewal address they provided...thank god. Additional note...there were several variations of the email address for them in their reply to me. It looked like 3 different email addresses responded to me. And shortly after my experience with them, I received a notice from one of the credit card companies I use(not the one that I paid this place with) stating that my social security number appeared on the dark web.

I wanted to update my passport and this was the first site that came up. I thought it was a government website, but should have looked more carefully!

I was attempting to renew my passport and the website was sponsored ad that I thought was the .gov site. I filled out all the info and submitted. Then realized I had only paid to fill out the forms.

- Princeton, NJ, USA • Apr 29, 2024

As a result of performing a google search for passport renewal, the first link was to this website. I realized that it was not a government site before submitting payment, but did submit personally identifying information, though it is unclear if this was truly recorded to some other entity since I did not complete the entire process.

- Brighton, MI, USA • Apr 29, 2024

Website impersonates a government website and collects substantially more information than they include on the forms they produce.

- Boston, MA, USA • Apr 28, 2024

I accidentally thought this was a legitimate government website to get a passport and entered my child's information and paid the fee

- Arlington, MA, USA • Apr 23, 2024

The scammer is impersonating the US Dept. of State. I provided sensitive PII in an attempt to renew a passport, believing that I was on the website of a legitimate government agency.

- Miami, FL, USA • Apr 12, 2024

I went into the site assuming it was the State.gov site, because it resembled it completely, including the URL. I did not notice that it ended as state.com, not state.gov.

By the time, I had submitted the application for my passport renewal and payment, I noticed that it was a fraud by the language on the confirmation page.

I entered my social security, address, occupation, date of birth, current expired passport number, full debit card number, parents's name and birthdates, country of birth, among others.

If there is any suggestion you would recommend that I follow in addition to raising a fraud alert for my social security number, or if you would suggest any additional steps to recovering my money other than contacting my bank, please reach out to me!

- Trenton, NJ, USA • Apr 07, 2024

I googled passport renewal and clicked on the first result, which was their website. Before I realized this was a scam, I filled out the form which included very sensitive info including SSN and date of birth and paid an application fee.

They stole all information about me including social like filling out a passport

- Saint Cloud, MN, USA • Apr 02, 2024

Google searched “passport renewal” and their website came up. Very professional website that made it clear they were third party to help fill out personal info for passport application. I didn’t think much of it because sometimes organizations use third parties.
