Received an email stating that my order of firewall security is auto renewed and $399 has been charged to my credit card. They gave a number to call if I had any questions. I called the number. They wanted access to my computer to remove their software before they would credit my account. Like a fool, it seemed real, so I gave them access to my computer as they said I could watch everything they did. I was able to watch briefly, but then they put up a Privacy Screen so I couldn't see what they were doing. Then they asked me to enter my bank account information for the refund as the credit to my credit card was not going through. SCAM. And I fell for it. BEWARE! Now I have to pay $150 to have a professional scan my laptop for viruses and whatever else they may have done to my computer. And I am changing all of my passwords. I feel like a fool!

I HATE MIKE!! My mom recently bought me computer using her BestBuy credit card. She got an email from PC Solutions stating that there was a $499.99 charge pending on her card for Norton security for my computer from 6/26/21 to 6/25/23. She called me and asked me if I ok'd this, I did not! She called the help line that was on a professionally done invoice and spoke to a Mike. She told him we didn't approve this charge, Mike asked her to go to the computer in question and he would get a refund going. She told him I had the computer so he told her to get me to call him when I was near the computer and he would get the refund approved. So I called Mike. He has a heavy Indian accent but was pleasant to talk to. He had me download teamviewer to my computer so he could remotely help me get to the refund page. I explained to him that the charge was to my mom's card, not mine. He told me he had to transfer the money while I was on the phone with him to make sure we got the money back. He remotely took me to a refund page and had me enter my name, my zip, $500.00 refund amount and what bank to bank with. He got no personal info from me, no ss, no birthday, no address. He then asked me to pull up my bank so he could electronically transfer $500. Luckily, I didn't enter any passwords, as they defaulted that time to previous questions, which I have since changed. I pulled my account up and he told me to not tell him the amount, write it down, so I did. My screen went black, it came back up with my bank info, same amount as before, he asked did I see the $500 deposit? I said no. My screen went blank again. My bank came back but this time it looked like there was $1,500 more than it did a second ago. I told him so. He freaked out, saying he messed up, he sent me 3 times the refund than he meant to, he was gonna get fired. He asked me if there was a Walmart near me so I could save his job by going up there and getting 2 $500 gift cards that I could send him back electronically and he could keep his job and I still got the refund. RED FLAGS!!! I told him I needed to talk to my husband, he said he would hold, I told him my phone was about to die, he asked me to put it on charge, he seemed really nice but scared of losing his job. He begged me to help. I hung up the phone, turned off my computer, unplugged it and immediately looked up my bank on my phone. Nothing had changed. There was no $1,500 extra like it showed on my computer screen. There was no withdrawals, no debits. It was all a smoke screen. And a good one at that. He even had to nerve to call me back EIGHT times, one time leaving a voice mail, begging me to answer, he said I took his money (which I didn't) and he was gonna lose his job!! This was all lies. There was no charge on my mom's card. No activity in my bank, he just wanted me to gift cards to send to him. Apparently, this is a common tatic, I called my bank today to make sure there wasn't anything weird going on in my account. Thank goodness there isn't. I deleted teamviewer, scanned the heck out of my computer and all is well. BEWARE!!!!

Received two emails: the first one indicated order confirmation for an auto renewable plan of Norton family. It said that $499.29 would be automatically debited from my account. A number (218-656-0186) was provided to cancel. The call did not go through (Google account?).

The second email again confirmed the order and stated that my account was debited $499.29. It stated “We are an associate of the Geek Squad.” Another number was provided: 209-600-4956.

Fake Invoice received for product not ordered. A "toll free" phone number is supplied to dispute charge, but the number is for a cellphone number from Laughlin NV.

Probably a phishing scheme where they will ask for you bank or credit card info in order to refund the money.

It states thank you for your payment and an automatic debit of $499.29 for 5 years of auto renewable plan of Norton family. I have never signed up for such a plan. A friend also got this same phishing email. It says to call if there's a question. The area code in the body of mail is Nevada but the address of the supposed bill is Florida. Probably if you call to question this fake bill, they capture your phone number and will continue bothering you by email and phone. Best advice would be to ignore it.
