I have been called three times today (Oct 18, 2019) by these numbers. They are saying that my social security number has been withdrawn, and that I have a warrant out for my arrest. If I push #1 I will be connected to a law enforcement official and given other instructions. All of these numbers are from area code 254.

- Manvel, TX, USA

Scammer called me with an auto-message telling me my SSN had been compromised and is therefore cancelled. Press "1" to speak with a representative. I pressed 1 and this guy with a thick heavy Indian accent answered telling me I'd have to pay to get my social security number un-cancelled. I told him that I'd like my number to be removed from scamming calls. The minute I said that, he says "ohhhhhh you SO smart, did you figure that out allllllll by yourself....WoOOoooow" - I cursed at him and told him to stop calling and hung up on him.

- Stafford Springs, CT, USA

They called multiple times a day just to leave a voicemail. I called them back and they answered saying they were the Social Security Administration. I stated that they clearly were not the SSA and the guy responded with "Why not? Why do you think that?" I hung up shortly after. I didn't wait long enough for him to ask me for all my personal information.

I had a call today saying they were from the Social Security Administration. They said that there had been fraudulent activity, multiple bank accounts (22 of them) had been opened under my name and they wanted me to talk to Deputy Hazel *** *** *** ***. This had been going on for several months they said. I talked to her and she eventually sent me to Neil ***, who was apparently another court person there. He told me they were going to send someone to my house to search for Illegal Drugs and other things. He also said they were going to issue me a new social security number. They did ask personal information such as my SSN and banking information in order for them to check in the case. They did say that the call was being recorded and that when I told them I would have to call them back, they got extremely agitated. He had been agitated the entire time though.

- Kansas City, MO, USA

The call begins with a recorded message that due to suspicious activity, my social security number has been suspended. It then continues that "if you think this is a mistake, press 1 to speak to a social security administrator." The last time I picked up, I pressed 1 and told the woman that I wanted to be removed from the list and that I know it's a scam and that the next time it happened, I would report it as fraud. She told me in a quiet voice that I should report it to the police this time.

An auto message was left several times telling me my ssn was suspended as it was used in a federal crime. I knew it was BS but called them back anyway. Of course the person answering was American. I told her I was calling about the b***[censored] scam phone call. She told me to watch my language. I told her to stop scamming. She said don’t call this number and F you!

I have had several calls from this phone number in the past few weeks saying it is the Social Security Administration and they leave a VM stating need to speak to me.
