Web Host Agents Reports & Reviews (116)

Scammer attempted to request a payment for a $180 invoice for web hosting services.

received fraudulent invoice for annual web hosting in attempt to take over our web hosting or collect fees and render no services.

- Victoria, TX, USA

Received a fake invoice in the mail listing our website with an amount due of $180.00 and a due date. There is a description of "This is a solicitation for the order of goods or services, or both, not a bill, invoice , or statement of account due." Unfortunately, we did not see this fine print, and attempted to get a refund via email and phone. In attempt to get a refund for this unwanted charge/service, we called 1-877-415-9947. In doing so, the call options/menu take you back to the same options, and if you select to leave a voice message, the phone line automatically disconnects. All email attempts to contact [email protected] and [email protected] were not responded or contacted back.

- Littleton, CO, USA

Received an invoice for $180.00 for yearly web hosting of our website. Note our website is listed on the invoice. Called our actual web host and they said it's a scam and not to pay it.

- Southlake, TX, USA

I was billed for a service (web hosting) that they did not provide.

Web Host Agents sent a solicitation to my business disguised as an invoice. Language includes "make checks payable to", "sign up for paperless billing", "amount due", "due date", etc. They are targeting companies who do not have as much awareness of what services they have signed up for, hiding behind their generic name.

- Denver, CO, USA

This organization sent my company an "invoice" for yearly web hosting. They are not my web host. In some fine print on the invoice it says that it's not a bill, but clearly a deceptive practice with intent to deceive the recipient of the correspondence. This organization is a scammer.

Company sent an invoice to my place of business with a due date, amount due, and past due. If this was not opened by an owner, this would have been paid. Absolute scam and horrible business practice to attempt to get clients.

- Hawley, MN, USA

I received a fake and misleading invoice from this company for web hosting. I have web hosting through goDaddy.com - not webHostAgents.com. The invoice states to send them 180.00 and shows a fake account number to my web address. Please inform the public of this - as most people are not tech savy and don't understand who their web host is. Fine/ prosecute them please! See attached - this is what I received.

I use WIX for our website. I have never and will never seek the services of web host agents. Never heard of them until I received what looks like an invoice. Fraudulent invoice, seeking payment for services not rendered, nor sought.

We received an invoice today with a previous business name that has not been associated with our location for over 3 years now. The invoice however stated it was for our current business website. We have never done business with this company and our accounts payable department confirms this is indeed a fake and fraudulent invoice.

They sent us a fake invoice via USPS. This should be a crime.

- Mount Carmel, IL, USA

Our small business received a document which at first glance, and even with some close inspection, appears to be an invoice for $180.00 for hosting our web site The document include identifying information on our company that would make it appear legitimate, as well as being formatted with information recognizable as an invoice. A very thorough inspection provides some additional information noting that the document is not an invoice. However, the unsolicited document would appear to be a true statement of services due if I did not already know that our web hosting was taken care of through a different company. This document could easily and unwittingly be paid by a company not knowing anything about their web hosting services.

- Redwood City, CA, USA

I got a "bill" from Web Host Agents in the mail saying I owe $180.00 and my account dated 8/15/2019 . It looked like a renewal notice, and my domain name had days to expire. It even had an account number at the top.

I do not have an account with Web Host Agents and never have!! My domain name is secure and paid for with Go Daddy for another several years! Good think I checked, or they would have taken my money and ran.

You guys are deceptive, wanting me to double pay.

I looked them up on Yelp and there are many bad reviews all saying the same thing. They are trying to solicit business by sending advertising that actually looks like a renewal of a domain name bill.

We posted a website add for our business, and we go through a certain rep and already paid our bill. Then we got a solicitation from Web Host Agents, saying to renew our subscription, making it look very misleading saying there was a balance and an amount due by a certain date, asking for $180.00.

These people sent what looks like an invoice to our company. We don't host our website with them. Only in the smaller print, it is in bold, does it say this is not a bill or invoice. This is an obvious attempt to get people paying them money before ever even contacting them about the service. This type of company should not be allowed to operate.

We have never done business with this company and have not paid them any money but this article of mail looks like a legitimate bill.

I received an invoice for $180 from Web Host Agents. It was showing as due and payable right away. When I called the phone number on the invoice the message said that the notice wasn't really an invoice but rather a solicitation for web hosting services. I think many new, young business owners and accounts payable personnel would think that the invoice was real. This is not an appropriate form of advertising.

We received an invoice for 180.00 stating amount must be paid to continue website hosting.

- Villa Park, IL, USA

this company sent invoice looking like a real bill to be paid for our website hosting and after verifying all the info with our web host we found out this is a fake invoice, sent any money but I hope they will get shut down soon.
