Amazon Imposter Reports & Reviews (1289)

I received an email today with the Amazon name telling me "your items have shopped." I did not purchase anything but it says they will be "dispatched in 24 hours" and lists a price of $1,697. It contains grammatical and spelling errors, and does not capitalize Amazon. It is written weird and unprofessionally. It is obviously a scam so I did not respond and blocked the email address. I can see how someone may panic and contact the number for reply to the email. I hope this report will help someone not to fall for this trap.

I keep receiving calls on my cell phone from Amazon. The man said I ordered something. I would receive a package and a bill. He did not give an amount. I don't order from Amazon. I hang up and he calls right back. He called five times today. The phone number in my caller ID is 216-545-0712. He wanted to verify my name and Social Security number. Said he already had it. I did not give anything out.

I get spam messages almost every day. Often from Amazon. I haven’t shared my bank info or phone number so I really don’t know why this is happening or how to stop it

- Mount Pleasant, SC, USA

Received a phone call from the above Phone number to advise there was a $1400 payment posted to my account. They further advised that all I had to do was press 1 if the charge was OK or 2 to report fraud. After pressing two I reached an individual that advised they were from Amazon and wanted to know how the could help me today. At this point I hung up and called your customer service line.

Was advised by customer service that no outbound calls are generated. wanted to relay the above phone for fraud. thank you

Callers pose as AMAZON agents, claiming that they are verifying an Apple Compiter and EarPods purchase on your personal account. They immediately get your personal info to “verify”, and then try to get credit card info.

If this order goes through somehow, I will be out a LOT of money. I already verified that is definitely not Amazon - which is pretty obvious from the information in the email and the email address they used.

They call and leave a voice mail saying this is Amazon and they believe there is some fraudulent charges on my account. Do not have an account with Amazon as far as I know. This has happened four times. Once for $500.00, then for $9.00, then for $49.00, and the for $400.00 and some dollars. The scammers want me to call 1-888-614-5851.. When I call this # they ant me to go on line at their web site and answer some questions. Which I never do not do.. I tell them I do not have access to a computer.

Phone call from "David" at (509)3034010. He stated that he was from Amazon fraud, an Amazon charge had been made to my account for an iphone 12 for $349 by a name that is my daughter, that the iphone is to be sent to a Mary Cooper in Santa Rosa, that the charge would go through unless I went on the site www.awesun.com within ten minutes, and followed his directions. I called Amazon, who had no record of such a charge, and called my credit card company, who also had no record of an attempted charge. I then went on the site, which is a company that can hook up remote connection between computers and other devices. I then called back "David" and stated that neither Amazon nor my credit card company had such a record. I informed him that I would report to ScamPulse.com unless he had something else to say to me. He hung up.

I have recieved two text messages claiming I have won a prize off of amazon. I do not have an amazon account so this was easy to see through, but still.

Googled Amazon Prime Customer Service. My TV went out. I called 800-527-8461. I thought Ii was calling Amazon Prime. It was a scammer. I gave a different credit card number. They told me Amazon was having a new promotion. I would not have to pay a monthly bill. I lost $209.09. I called the real Amazon. Told me that was not them. Amazon sent me a fraud letter. I want to warn others to be careful. Another scammer payment number is 731-241-8121. I contacted my credit card company.

On August 15, 2020 i had a call from a gentleman saying i had a chrge on my account., he had me look into it and thats when i noticed the charge for $100. I had a $100. Charge on my Amazon Visa charge for an Xbox gift card (digital code) that I did not order. Amazon took it off my account then put it back on. Now this was back on August 15, 2020 and I have been working with Amazon to remove this from my charge . I have called every month 2 to 4 times. I'm a 73 yr old woman and have never used an Xbox. My Amazon Bill is now up to $248.37 and I refuse to pay it.

On 30 April 2021, I received an automated call stating the caller was AMAZON, and the I needed to press key #1 to verify a payment of $900.00 to AMAZON for an item, or press #2 to cancel.

Since I didn't order ANY items from AMAZON, and suspected that pressing either key could be electronically manipulated, I closed the call immediately, and without pressing either key.

My caller ID stated the phone call was coming from number (850) 304-2250.
