left voicemail asking me to verify purchase of apple macbook pro

- Cleveland, OH, USA • Dec 05, 2024

I received a voicemail from someone claiming to be from Amazon. They said $1499.00 would be charged to my account soon. They provided a reference number and a phone number to call. I did not call back because I do not have an Amazon account so I knew this was a scam.

- Gainesville, GA, USA • Nov 25, 2024

Cold call to a waiting line with music. Automated music played for 15 seconds before a robotic voice stated that they were "calling to authorize a payment for $1499.00 for the recent purchase of Apple MacBook Pro on your Amazon Account. If you do not authorize this payment, please press one to speak to our customer service representative." When returning the call to be put on a 'Do Not Call' list, I was unable to ever connect to an actual representative or person.

Scammer said that my Amazon account was making a "abnormal payment" I have also been contacted twice after buying items on Amazon saying that the sellers were potentially selling stolen goods

- Hudson, OH, USA • Nov 23, 2024

A woman left this message on my cell phone: "This call is to authorize the payment of $1,499 for the recent order of Apple Macbook Pro on your Amazon account. If you do not authorize this payment, please press one to speak to our customer support representative." I did NOT press one. This 50 second message was 15 seconds of dead air followed by 20 seconds of music and the 15 second message at the end.

Good Day,

I am writing to formally report the website https://amazstore-glo.com, which I believe is engaging in fraudulent activities. I purchased an electric scooter for $39.99 (Order Number: BB1288) on 1 November 2024, but the tracking number provided (AM*********CN) is invalid, and communication through their provided email ([email protected]) lacks transparency and professionalism.

The website provides no legitimate contact details, phone numbers, or identifiable business information, and its operations appear to violate consumer protection laws. I request your assistance in investigating this matter and taking appropriate actions, including shutting down the website if found to be fraudulent.

Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter. I am available to provide additional details or documentation if required.

Sincerely, ****** ****** ******* *******************

The advertised phone number is not an Amazon customer service telephone number. If it is, I was not allowed to speak to customer service, they tried to sell me heart monitor devices, and it is a pre-recorded message that solely to try to force customers to buy something they don't want. There is no live person to speak with, nor any option to circumvent forced advertisements

The customer stated that scammer said that they were Amazon letting them know someone had purchased an Ipad on there amazon account. Scammer got the customers social security number, posing to then be Federal trade commission.

Scammer sent customer pictures of badges etc. Customer was going to send 10,000 to scammer in a drop box. She did not.

A letter from Amazon said to email a product review on a recent purchase to an email address, it reads like a phishing email, but is a physical paper with incorrect spelling from a person in Peoria IL. When I tried to contact Amazon I got no response.

Text message sent about unauthorized orders, whating me to put in my log in information

- Portland, OR, USA • Nov 02, 2024

Received a text from this person identifying themselves as Amazon. Said the product I ordered was out of stock and they'd like to help in so many words but needed me to click a link below. I didn't. This would've led to some info stealing and/or much more including financial theft. Makes me worry about people like my Mother who may fall for something like this.

I was a victim of the Amazon FireTV stick scam. While setting up FireTV stick on my computer I received a pop up on my TV screen that said the activation could not be completed and to contact tech support at the phone number provided on the pop up, 855-740-3102. I called the number and spoke to a person who said he was a supervisor from Amazon and that he could help get the Fire TV stick activated. He said the problem was that our amazon prime account was fraudulent accessed in the middle of the night and purchases were attempted in amount of $4200.00 + . They froze our Amazon account and that is why I could not get an activation code. He said we had to first stop the fraud and then he would be able to get the access code. He said I would need to deal with the people who initiated the scam. They were from Texas and New Mexico. He had their names and phone numbers. He instructed me to get on the computer and check my accounts. there was no activity on my credit cards which he had the last for digits of each of the cards. They he said I would need to get on my bank account and temporarily transfer money to them and assured me that the money would be returned with 24 hours. I questioned him but he said this is the way we have to do it. He assured me that they would not get the money and within 24 hours all the money would be returned to my bank account. He told me this is the only way they can clear the amazon account and get the code. I was hesitant but he already had the last 4 digits of 2 of my credit cards. He also instructed me to sign into my Amazon acct where he showed me that someone tried to get into my Amazon account for $4,200. He provided the names and phones he had who accessed my amazon acct. He said we would need to temporarily transfer the money to them but I would get it back. He had me transfer the money, 3 - $500 and 1 - $1,000 transfers to the names that he provided. When he wanted me to drive to Lowes to get gift cards I realized that this was a scam. He tried to reassure me that this is not a scam and that we had to do it this way but I refused. So I called my bank and was told this is a scam and to hang up. At this point im out the $ 2,500 that I had transferred.
