I was contacted by email regarding a research opportunity. I submitted my personal information and scheduled time on their calendar. The calendar had multiple openings and confirmed meetings to complete research but was told those were not real appointment times and I need to reschedule. This was done 3 times and one meeting was accepted only for me to be told they do not have openings to continue the research. I provided them with information I can’t get back and currently worried about my financials after all the data breaches and scams that occurred from 2021 till today. I feel they should have never reached out to me if they were not honoring the calendar meeting times which caused me to loose time at school and work.

The scammer tried to send me a check and have it deposited via ATM then withdraw the funds to pay the wardrobe, muah artists along with the place being booked. When the check did arrive it was mailed from a shipping company in florida with a company name from california and a back name from New Jersey which I found very odd.

had an interview with them on september fourth and they were being very sketchy first they asked if i was married/single/had any kids which i don’t think they’re allowed to ask and then they were saying i needed to pay for the background check at first and im like why do i have to pay you guys anything but im like whatever and then she says i have to pay for courses actually (when before she said it was for the background check but she switched up) and that i have to get licensed and she never told me anything of my roles for the job she never told me what license it’s for when i asked her what is the license for and she just said “oh you know the job” and i was like what you don’t even know what it’s for or what it’s called and yeah she didn’t tell me anything about the role or the job at all and kept pushing for me to send $124 over and over when i had repeatedly told her i don’t have that and that’s why i am looking for a job and then she proceeded to say we take cashapp venmo blah blah blah and im like what

I was looking for a part time job online, and applied for a remote job. They contacted through WhatsApp and explained that this "company" was to help retailers raise their ratings online. I agreed to continue and it was explained to me further how the process works. Each day you would log in and would have at least $100 dollars to spend (I got this through my manager's commission the first day, The second day I had enough to start), and then essentially pretend to buy products, and we got a commission from whatever the profits were. I was told about the lucky packages which gives us a higher commission. but most of the time we had to transfer money into the account. This was done through customer service. You would say "I would like to deposit on this account" and they would give you a address to transfer it too. What I wasn't told is that the address changes every so often, so I thought it was the same. I would copy the address and put it in and it would say duplicate of the one I had saved. At first it was only a couple hundred dollars, and I got it back. Then it was a thousand dollars. The last one was for $2050 usd which came up to $2,900 cnd. When I found out how much it was, I told my manager that I couldn't afford it, because that was all my money, but she insisted that it would be worth it. So I transferred the money. When I sent the proof to customer service they said that I sent it to the wrong address, and that they couldn't do anything. It had to go through the crypto currency app. When I told them that no it had to be the receiver that sent it back, they said there was nothing they could do. I told them I wanted to talk to a manager, and they said because I not a VIP, I don't have the ability to and that I should own up to my mistake, and accept the lost. I then talked to my manager, and she said that there was nothing she could do. I then talked to her manager, and he said that he couldn't help either. So now I've lost all of my money. I don't know if this company is legit or not, but in the terms and conditions it says that it is the right of the agent to handle claims and complaints and seek resolution (legal right and legal claims) {Section 2.7}

I had an account on the freelancer website Fiverr. Last Thursday, a person contacted me, first via fiverr and then by e-mail, saying that he was from KERN Global Translating and wanted me to translate a 100-page text from English to Polish. The task completion time was 2 days and the salary for completing the task was $5,000. I completed the task and sent the project to the manager for checking. When I completed the task correctly, the project manager transferred me to the company's accountant, who impersonated the famous German graphic designer Justus Oehler. I was supposed to get money from him for the project. At the beginning, however, he extorted $50 from me for a fake company ID that I had to create to get the money. Then he scammed me out of another $100 for an E-pin to the platform where I was supposed to get the money, to later withdraw it to his account. This platform was called Roller Crafter Pro. As it turned out later, it has the status of a scam. Unfortunately, I registered on this website and received a transfer from an unknown person for $5,150. $5,000 for the project, and $150 for the alleged refund for the e-pin and ID. I did not withdraw money from this platform for several reasons. First of all, to withdraw money you need to provide a VAT code, which is obtained from customer service and costs $150. Such methods are not used in normal financial institutions. Secondly, I don't know if the money is real. If I had withdrawn them they might not have gone into my bank account and then the fraudsters might have demanded a refund. It could also be a loan. I asked the website's customer service to return the money to the owner and close my account, but she does not respond and says it is impossible.

It was a job on indeed. It was through a company called Bonanza. An agent contact me through WhatsApp. They help me set up the account and help me make all the transactions. It seems legit, but it only ended up and me having to pay to get my money and And still cannot get it without paying taxes on it. It was about doing 38 task to complete a job and was played a commission. I never received commissions or any type of money from this company. I lost all of my money.

- Ballwin, MO, USA • Jul 05, 2024

I applied for one of the many job openings from the company and set up an interview the next day. The job said it was a marketing role that paid 40K a year. The interview was a group interview telling a bunch of people about the job. They then set up interviews with the people basically telling us we were hired, even though we hadn’t gotten a chance to ask questions. I turned down the role because it was fishy. I ended up doing some research and found out the company’s jobs are not what are advertised. They end up being more related to standing outside and working long hours just to meet a certain quota. The people who have worked there previously all gave the company bad reviews while the good reviews were only from current employees.
