I was contacted by email. He invited me to a teams meeting. We had a meeting by chat. He sent an acceptance letter then a check for over$2400 I then knew it was a scam.

Someone from Facebook messaged me, offering a job; her name is Carol Lewis. She told me about a work-from-home job. Since I joined some Facebook groups related to WFH, I asked her where she found me, so yes, it is on FB. She asked me to email my resume to Devon Layton ([email protected]). I checked their website did some research, and it initially seemed legit. I got an interview, and they told me I got the job. They asked me to wait for an email from Kelvin Carlton ([email protected]), the Program Manager who will oversee my onboarding. He asked me to install Microsoft Teams (https://teams.microsoft.com/downloads), our primary communication mode. So I signed the job offer contract and even sent him my IDs. On August 21, I got a check from him amounting to $3,800 (for purchasing the equipment, signing bonus, and advance training pay). He said I needed to deposit the check into my bank account. Once deposited, the money will be used to purchase the necessary equipment since I work from home. But when I received the check, it was very suspicious! The check name was under a museum, not under the company's name. Even the address doesn't seem right. The check bounced. They were not able to get any money from me, but unfortunately, they were able to get my identity IDs.

The same as previously listed here. They asked me endless interview questions on Zoom messaging. They also, believe it or not, asked me initially, before the interview process began, which position are you interested in. Following the online interview, I was asked to open a Gmail account, which I did. Eventually they asked me to identify myself through official US government forms. I filled out some of it on DocuSign but left out key details such as a Social Security number. They also asked, like the previous person, which bank I use. I refused to give out any details. So they asked if a Wells Fargo bank was near me. I said yes. Then the problem was to open an account, you needed $25. I refused to do that, saying never in my life did I have to spend one penny to begin a job. Of course going to an in-person interview, one needed expense money to travel there. Understood and necessary. All in all, my experience was spot-on like the previous individual. Beware.

Maria,

Sounds good, talk to you then!

After seeing this reported before, I was weary but still followed through with the Skype interview. Because of this, when asked if I preferred direct deposit or check, I made sure to say I preferred a check. It took her a long time to get back to me after the text-based interview and I suspect it's because of this. She asked me to check back later today, so I will try to provide an update because it's so open when you search for it online.

I was using Indeed for my job search as I graduated college, and I came across this video editor position with the company CIQ. Upon further investigation, I determined CIQ was and is a real company and I submitted an application. About a week later I received an email on how they thought I was a good fit for the position and that their positions fill up very quickly. I told them I was interested and they sent me an email back with a PDF (attached) titled "PRE-JOB BRIEFING" which was essentially a job offer letter which I also thought was strange.

They signed the letter as a random name and that I had to contact them to schedule my interview on an app called Wire - --Secure Messenger, which I thought was weird since I had never heard of this program in my life and other positions I've been interviewed remotely for have only used Zoom or Webex.

Then, I looked up the name they gave me and nothing bounced back to that name working at CIQ or this person even being real.

I then asked if this letter was legitimate and if I could have someone help me in the process, to which someone quickly replied "Follow the instructions."

So, I determined it was a scam and I called CIQ directly to report it, the operator told me that I was the fifth person that week who reported something similar.

I probably only lost my email, phone, name, and address to these scammers, but I didn't lead them on enough to allow them to steal money from me. They were offering an insane benefit package and offering to send me new equipment like a Macbook Pro which I would have to "front" the cost for if I let it get to that point.

Just trying to protect others, and hopefully, they can find these scammers.

I was hired as a account representative by Digi MD. Full on boarding and exchange of information. This was followed by a training period of about 3 weeks which seemed legit. Most communication was through a Telegram app. This included market research, customer service training and a lot of information exchange. I was instructed to receive a wire transfer and to my account and then the money to an account at US bank minus a partial salary for me and expenses incurred. Unfortunately I did it. When my bank reached out to say the transfer was false I realized I had been scammed.

I have been looking for an at Home job and have sent several applications out. I get this text about a job. They said they were with Q-Corp. I looked them up and they are from Las Vegas. so that seem official. He asked if I could do the interview now. I was away from home so I said no, I would get back to him. He sent a link for me to click on when I was available. So the Next day I clicked on the link and he ask me all the normal questions, just like a regular interview. after that he said he would get back to me about the job offer. He asked me to contact him the next morning. I contacted him the next morning and he said congratulating I got the job. I was thinking, this is too easy. Then he explained the position and how it all works. I was going to receive a check in the amount of $3150.00 I was to take $200 to purchase software and $100 for me as a bonus for signing up, then I was to take the left over funds and deposit it in a shipping account, he will send the info soon. So they can ship my computer & supplies needed for the work from home job. I had a funny feeling that this was a scam. I decided against taking the Job. I hope no one else falls for this.

Got a job offer for a virtual assistance. Look for them online, but there's no information or even social media. They only have a website that looks kinda suspicious. Their application job is only your personal information, don't include any past job experience.

I received a text about a position I never applied for with a company called Humatica. I was directed to a Microsoft teams interview where I would need to provide more information ASAP. After googling the company I saw that many others had this experience and had been scammed when they ask for your banking information for direct deposit.

They found one of my phone numbers on Indeed and reached out with this false job opportunity.

I was promised a purchasing manager position with high bonus while you using my own credit card to buy for up to $10,000 with the promise of reimbursement. They got a hold of my credit balance and promise to pay them off to start.

Indeed post job as a Shipping Agent Remote $3,500 monthly - $42,000 Annual - they made contact through email [email protected] provide some "legit" information about the job and made me to fill a form with basic information and then "you're hired" they used various phone numbers +1 833-42-8824/ +1 786-574-3063/+1 833-247-5293. I person called me for a 15min interview named Paul Weissman, his accent is like his from another language country, not american at all. The company name used is EZ SHIP LLC.

I applied for a Data Entry Specialist position on LinkedIn. The "owner" replied that they're excited to move further with the application process and provide a cover letter and salary requirements.

I had suspicions and declined the offer. The "owner" emailed the next day and ignored my refusal, stating that the Data Entry Specialist position has been filled, but will re-open in October 2023, and wanted me to start an Executive Virtual Assistant position next week, offering $700/week with a sign-on bonus of $850 after 50 hours worked. If accepted he wanted to conduct a quick virtual interview.

I replied to move forward with the offer. Still, he was "too busy" for a virtual interview, as he is in Ontario, Canada on a business trip, and emailed me basic interview questions instead. Once I replied with the interview answers, he provided a contract, and stated the following:

"We need to set up your home office before giving you access to my emails, expenses accounts, and other confidential resources. I've already discussed with our authorized distributor to make all the necessary office equipment available to you. You'll receive the equipment listed below:

1) Apple Macbook Pro 16" Core i9 2.4GHz 4GB 1TB Radeon Pro 5500M

2) HP Laserjet M577f Laser All-in-One Color Printer

3) Fellowes Proteus 125 Thermal & Cold Laminator, 12.5" Width, Putty (5709501)

4) Powershred MS-450Cs

The following software programs will be installed and ready for your immediate use once you receive the equipment:

1) BS 1 Professional Time Billing 2022.2 Norton ghost 20.1

2) Sage 3000 cloud 2022 (SAGE) US Patent Single User Pack

3) Microsoft 365 Home Premium Word, Power-Point, Excel, and Outlook

4) MyOB Business Essentials Pro

A comprehensive training video will be included in the package to guide you on how to utilize the software programs for your tasks. None of the program is complicated or hard to use, you'll find this to be so after watching the training videos. A time tracking app will also be installed so you can effectively keep track of your hours.

I've instructed my accountant to make funds available to pay the invoice so the distributor can deliver the equipment to you next week. However, the distributor advised that they're having their annual account audit at the moment. In order not to jeopardize their audit process, they are only accepting payments via money orders during the audit period.

For your first task, I will instruct my accountant to cut out a check from my other business account and mail it to you via FedEx to be delivered on Tuesday. The funds will also include your first week pay of $700. Once you receive the payment, you're to get money orders from a post office near you and mail it out to the distributor so they can proceed to deliver the office equipment to you within 24hrs of receiving payment.

Please confirm you'll be available on Tuesday to receive and deposit the check in your account so the funds can be available to carry out the task."

The requests did not make sense, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is. Stay safe, and God Bless.
