I called this number and the woman on the phone said I had to cancel this on a website. She sent me to one website that didn't make sense then another www.anydesk.com. This site is for taking control of my computer. I told her I wasn't going to give them control of my computer. She started yelling at me telling me they won't get into my computer, that it was safe. I then called the real Geek Squad, they told me it was a scam and that I should report it to you.

I received an email today from Geek Squad. They thanks me for automatically renewing my subscription with them for $479.99 for total PC security. We have never used Geek Squad for our computer security. I called the customer service number to ask what and how this was being renewed. The man on the line identified himself as Chris William. He stated that he would be able to help me with the refund process. To continue this process I needed to be at my computer. He gave me addresses to type in to my computer so that the process could be completed. This included 2 websites, neither of which was Geek Squad. He assisted as I filled out a form for the refund. When The form asked for banking information I stopped and questioned him irately! He assured me that his company works with the ScamPulse.com and that he would never ask me for my banking info as this was not allowed by the BBB. This was just to make sure the refund went to the proper bank. I told him to wait a minute while I checked my account to see if $479.99 had been withdrawn from my account by Geek Squad. I checked and there had been no withdrawal. I told him that since their had been no withdrawal, I obviously didn't need the refund and hung up on him.

Renewal “service” from different companies

- Pikesville, MD, USA • Feb 21, 2024

I opened my email today (2/21/2024), a little before 10:50 am. In the email, I had an invoice from "Geek Squad", indicating that my Geek Squad subscription "automatically renewed" as the trual period ended. It also indicated that my "respected card" was charged accordingly, and that I should call 1-888-432-0149 to dispute and cancel the subscription. When I called the above number to cancel, the person on the other end of telephone wanted me to use my personal computer to cancel, but but I did not have one. He then asked what type of cellphone I had and I asked why, and I became a little apprehensive. He said he needed my card number to cancel the account and I refused to give it, since the invoice teference my "respected card", would be charged. The person said since you will not cooperate I can not help you. I advised him then that maybe the "authorities" can assist him with my request. It sounded like the person on the other end of the telephone said "**** OFF", and hung the telephone up. I saved a copy of the invoice, but when I went back to check the email again. I found no record of the email. I checked with my bank and no money had been withdrawn from my account in the amount of $438.00. The description in the email invoice was "Geek Squad band", "quanty-2 windows devices". Amount $399, tax 10%, total due $438.00. NOTE: If the item cost was $399, then 10% of $399 would have been $39.90, making the total cost $438.90, and not $438.

“MIROSOFT” is a scam trying to get your bank account number! Disguised as Best Buy Geek Squad they fixed my computer remotely and loaded software for malware and blocker. Never once did they correct me when discussed a prior call with “Geek Squad” them the day before, told them about my maintenance agreement I signed when I purchased my computer at Best Buy. The entire time believing they were Geek Squad. Then they wanted a payment of $799 for 3 year maintenance agreement by check to “MIROSOFT LLC” that they scanned into my computer and then deleted. Since, I have locked my bank account, stopped payment on the check and Best Buy is cleaning my laptop. Beware MIROSOFT LLC

First I got this email from Matt Frick saying he was with Geek Squad. [email protected]. He said that I had taken out a subscription for tech service at the Geek Squad. There were several phone numbers they used in the various communications. Then I received an email from a "fake" PayPal asking if I wanted to modify my subscription. I called the number and immediately then knew it was a scam. I purchased my computer from Staples and not Best Buy. The Geek Squad is ONLY at Best Buy. The scammers didn't know that, so I told them that and that I was calling the authorities on them. That was the last communication I had with them. I have a page to attach with a copy of all their correspondence. I hope you can put them out of business. Again, I have copies of all their emails that I am happy to send you if you will provide an email. Thank you.

I received an email claiming to be Geek Squad I think is a scam. I never used them. It is a renewal. It stated I set up an auto renewal I don't know what they are talking about. Coverage will run out on November 27th. That is today. Charging $301.97. It states call 833-273-7288 to cancel. I called the number. A man answered Geek Squad. He asked for my invoice number. I gave the number at the top of the email. Order confirmation number 6166673419. I questioned him. He said if any money is taken we will issue a refund. I did not give him a chance to ask for information. He hung up on me. I don't want this to happen to anyone else. This is the time of the year they come with this junk.

Email saying I owed the money for my computer that is bought and paid for why would I pay again. Then he said it was for a years sub for fraud protection . I told him I would never ordered that being on disability and no money coming in. And told him firmly what an inconvenience it was to bed 8ver to get my computer plugged in. He then said ok ma'am I'll just do it from here just turn your computer on. I then said well I'm not letting you take control of my computer and he hung up. Now I'm scared to use it now what ?

Stating order #3546684699 for Win-Tech 23 plan. Product key GS23A7jYXC3A. Total amount 322.99. Phone number 1-805-317-6102. Duratioñ 36 months. Total 32299. That I had to respond within 48 hours to cancel. Since I never ordered this, l responded with email that it is a scam, did they want to talk to my attorney. They made it sound like they already got this 322.99.

- Kihei, HI, USA

The scammer email said I had pre-paid $255 out of my bank account for a product I did not buy. They offered a phone number to call to cancel or change.

I did not call. Obviously they were wanting me to reveal my bank account number to "refund" my $255.
