Email stating as per you request we have successfully renewed your plan (we never had a plan) Transaction mode, purchase, GSN PC Secure, warranty 24 months, value $358.66. Your current plan renewal is done for 2 years on 16 August 2024 The amount will take 24 to 48 hours to appear bank statements. if you wish to change or cancel plan ring us 731-879-1582. Called the number and advised that we didn't order anything and that this was fraud. Someone with a heavy Indian accent stated we had bought a warranty 2 years ago for a laptop we purchase. I advised we did not buy a laptop 2 years ago and advised that there should be no charge. He hung up on me. Will watch my bank account for the next month or so to make sure no transaction shows up. Did not give him any info except for the last 4 numbers of their order number.

I got a random email, from "geek squad" stating that we started a service with them (we did not) and they wanted $430.64. I wrote back and said no thank you. They wrote back and said call us . I called. He wanted me to then fill out a form with my personal information. I said, "I feel like you are ******* **** **, I never even signed up for a service" He then freaked out, yelled at me and hung up. I swear this is a scammer.

- Nespelem, WA, USA • Jul 01, 2024

Only a phone number was given for this Geek Squad 2 year "renewal" subscription. (I never had a subscription) They said i owed $348.39 total (your sys wont let me enter this amount! Says "enter valid number!) There is a list of 403 other individuals and the message was sent by Jessica Brown. I tried to pull up email and it says "no content" but its gmail. I never made an on-line purchase and invoice #geeks54446870375 is bogus looking. Help me. Help us! Thank you.

They claimed they were Geek Squad and trying to collect money for laptop repair. I don’t own a laptop.

- Burlingame, CA, USA • May 30, 2024

I got an email saying that my subscription to Geek squad was paid and not to do anything if it was me. see below. I called the number to confirm that IT WAS NOT ME. He said someone in ohio had placed the order. Now he says, he will help me cancel it, and tries to get me to download a link that would allow him to take over my computer and confirm it is me, for security reasons. I told him that my mcaffe said the link had a virus. He had me find the link in my start menu because I had downloaded it, but not opened it. I again said: I do not understand why you need to have control of my computer to place a cancellation. He kept insisting he was trying to help me. I refused, asked more questions, and he (a male from India)hung up on me. I do not even know if there ever was an order filled. see text of e-mail below:

Scammer emailed me claiming they were from geek squad. In the subject title was the following: Receipt Mail _: 349.99USD Has Been Charged for Geek Membership Renewal ID_#946584659

Claimed that $379 were going to be charged to my account. Requested that I call the phone number or additional charges would be made. In order to cancel this it required me to call the number on the email as I did. I was left on the phone through a variety of channels for nearly 4 hours was asked to give my credit card. In which I proceeded to do so. And result all of the following information was from scam or fraudulent actions.

The email said that they had my digital signature showing I had signed up for the Premium Plus Plan and that my bank account would be charged $349.99. I did not respond or call the phone number.

I received an email verifying my purchase of a five year plan for tech support from the geek squad.

On trying to reach them i was informed by the number i called who said they were "geek squad support" that this was a SCAM. I THEN TRIED TO GET A LOCATION IN Vermont..which is where the call was from with no success.

These people are, in my opinion, TERRORIST!.

I contacted the Geek Sqaud, part of Best Buy to clean up my laptop and fix the volume. We are contract holders with Best Buy and working on our 3 computers is free. I called the number for the Geek sqaud that was on an old service report. We have been doing business with this company since 2017. The first day the technician went into my computer remotely and updated and fixed the volume. The next day I opened my computer to find Trojan virus and threats not to turn off the computer. I called back the geek squad and my call was switched to another number. I was told that because of the errors made with my computer I was entitled to $150 gift certificate to Best Buy and an extension to our service contract. They had me go to what they called a refund site and type in $150. Then they showed me that I actually had typed $15,000. I still didn't realize anything was wrong because they had our contract information. I was told that their accounts were now linked to mine and I had to withdraw $15,000 from my account to repay the overage. I was then given an account where I would deposit the money at a Chase bank. I became suspious then and told them. They showed me my bank account and it was all there. What I didn't know that those images were screen shots before they took all my money. I trusted the Geek Squad because of my long hx with them. Since I have reported this to the police, Wells Fargo and now you. I went to see the manager of Best buy in the henderson store. He looked at the numbers I called and said they weren't the right numbers, it was a scam. My issue is that these people has access to our private information throughbest buy. Best Buy knew this was going on and never informed even the contract holders to be aware.

The scammers were posing as Geek Squad. Trying to charge me for services related to a computer I don’t have

- Dayton, OH, USA • Mar 07, 2024

I received an order confirmation email even listing a transaction number and today's date. The email included an attachment with the Geek Squad logo thanking me for choosing Geek Squad Total Protection. It reflected I'd been a member since March 5, 2023 (of which I had not). The email claims they processed an annual fee of $369.95 and encouraged me to contact them if I did not approve the charge. I did not contact them and found a similar scam online.
