This is the second time this has happened. We registered our vehicle and it multiple letters in the mail about our “card extended warranty”. Luckily, I don’t fall for these. But it happened with our other vehicle. They knew our full address and vehicles we owned. The letter told us to call with our VIN number and extend our warranty. It was mailed from the zip code 92799 which is Santa Ana, CA and the phone number mentioned was 1-800-851-0673. There was also a fake customer id attached to the letter.

request we call concerning Home warranty policy A2H2168960.

Received “final notice” to update Home Warranty by postal mail.

Agent on phone said they were selling home warranties.

Mailed me a letter stating my car warranty expired and they would extend my warranty for 4 years. I sold that car 3 years ago.

Knew it was a scam. Just reporting it.

I have been receiving phone messages about our car warranty expiring and now received a phishy letter from “Richard Thomas, program coordinator of Vehicle Services Division”

I received a letter addressed to me (including my name and address) with a bar code in the top left below "Vehicle Services Division" and "Private & Confidential". It is titled "Final Notice" and "response to this notice requested". The number I am expected to call is 1-800-851-0673 to "activate my coverage" because "my factory warranty has expired or is about to expire". The name Richard Thomas is signed at the bottom of the page with the same number as the one I am expected to call. They list their operating hours at the bottom of the page in CST and they are 7 AM to 8 PM Mon-Fri and 10 AM - 4 PM Sat. I called and inquired about the business and requested that I stop receiving mail. On the phone, they called themselves Phoenix Protect, and stated their main office is in Dallas TX, with another office in Missouri.

The scammers use strong language to contact them to get home insurance. See the attached letter.

- Phoenix, AZ, USA

Looking for home equipment insurance policy and the person named Peter contacted us. Mentioned the company named Lifetime Home Warranty and sent us the paperwork to complete and enroll. Paid full year premium for two policies to get the discount.

Enrolled on October 28,2022 and needed to submit a claim on May 26th,2023 and realized that the phone number is invalid and no response and unable to connect.

- Troy, NY, USA

I received a letter in the mail, Postage Paid, with the words RESPONSE TO THIS NOTICE REQUESTED visible through the window in the envelope.

The letter had the header Vehicle Services Division, Private and Confidential, along with a customer ID and a barcode. The letter included my legal name, my address (with some error re: the apartment number), and the make and model of my vehicle. The letter was signed "Richard Thomas, Program Coordinator." The text of the letter made sense and was spelled correctly, but no specific company name or program name was included.

The letter stated, "Please call 1-800-851-0673 with VIN and current mileage before [one week after I received the letter].

Our records indicate that you have not contacted us regarding the vehicle service contract on your vehicle.

You are receiving this notice because your factory warranty has expired or may be about to expire.

By neglecting to activate your coverage you will be at risk of being financially liable for any and all repairs after your factory warranty expires. However, you still may have time left to activate coverage on your vehicle before it's too late. Final acceptance is subject to your ability to meet eligibility requirements.

This may be our only attempt to contact you about activating your Vehicle Service Contract.

We reserve the right to revoke your eligibility for service coverage if you do not meet our criteria. Call within 5 days to ensure eligibility."

The letter also included an alternate number for Spanish speakers: 1-800-813-6261.

I recently registered this vehicle in a new state. I also recently reported the car stolen to local police and my insurance company and had extensive repairs done after the vehicle was recovered.

I keep receiving these home warranty FINAL notices and a voucher for 199.00. Finally today I called them because have never had a warranty with them -- the guy's total focus was, okay, today I will be setting up your home warranty. I said no you won't -- you send this like I had a warranty with you and it is expiring -- you people are crooks, and I hung up.

- Grosse Pointe, MI, USA

I have now received these final offers for way over a year, have called them to be removed from their mailing lists, to no avail. They do have my name and address, which does make me uncomfortable. The latest one received has the usual buzz words of "final notice," "call immediately" etc. other clear red flags. Their website (homewarrantyusa.com) is vague and this company is not visible in any of the home warranty lists I have seen.

The address I got today for them is: 5000 Birch Street, Newport Beach, CA 92660

Let me know if you'd like me to send you a scan of the latest letter I just received.
