Home warranty coverage scam using Truist Bank as a reference.

- Reidsville, NC, USA

letter said we had fannie mae mortgage they had a customer id as HOM3402954 letter says we need to get our warranty up to date which we don't have anyhow letter was addressed to my mother which does not live at my address , seems like some kind of scare tactic to get an older person to take out warranty

I've been receiving these Auto Service Warranty type related mailings periodically. They state that "You are receiving this notice because your factory warranty has expired or may be about to expire." I do currently own an Auto Service Warranty Contract, but I know who its through. That Company would make their name available to me if it was them. This letter doesn't identify who or where its coming from. Therefore I am not going to acknowledge them. These notices ARE A SCAM!

Received a letter with no business/company name on it but offering $299.00 credit if I called (800)298-4390 for the warranty on my 2016 Subaru Crosstrek to be extended. MOTOR VEHICLE SERVICES was the only thing that looked like it might be what they were naming as far as a company. No type of coverage choices to choose from, only one listed on the paper and it didn’t even read right as far as what a car warranty explanation should look like. SCAM!
Scam extended warranty on my vehicle

Please call 1-800-851-0673 with VIN and current mileage before 01/11/2024. Our records indicate that you have not contacted us regarding the vehicle service contract on your vehicle. You are receiving this notice because your factory warranty has expired or may be about to expire. By neglecting to activate your coverage you will be at risk of being financially liable for any and all repairs after your factory warranty expires. However, you still may have time left to activate coverage on your vehicle before it’s too late. Final acceptance is subject to your ability to meet eligibility requirements. This may be our only attempt to contact you about activating your Vehicle Service Contract. We reserve the right to revoke your eligibility for service coverage if you do not meet our criteria. Call within 5 days to ensure eligibility.

Sincerely,

Recieved in The mail saying home warranty almost up and i dont have one. I knew it was a scam and did not contact them.

- Amityville, NY, USA

This company sent an unmarked envelope to me with no return adress, website, or clearly marked business name. Only a phone number to the "Program Coordinator" named Mark Smith was listed

The letter inside asked for an urgent phone call to them threatening financial liability if something happens to my car after the date noted. If I call before, they're trying to have me purchase an extended warranty.

- Fort Collins, CO, USA

This is the second time this has happened. We registered our vehicle and it multiple letters in the mail about our “card extended warranty”. Luckily, I don’t fall for these. But it happened with our other vehicle. They knew our full address and vehicles we owned. The letter told us to call with our VIN number and extend our warranty. It was mailed from the zip code 92799 which is Santa Ana, CA and the phone number mentioned was 1-800-851-0673. There was also a fake customer id attached to the letter.

Postal letter to home owner from Fannie Mae Mortgage regarding Home Warranty . Bold letters stating Immediate Response Requested.

Stated this is our final attempt to notify you. Failure to call could result in you being liable for all costs associated with home repairs.

Respond immediately by calling James Miller, Program Director at 800-223-9171

Please be advised this amount will continue to increase over time.

I believe they are just phishing for information I received a letter about a warranty on a car that I don’t have it was just the same make as the car that I own I believe they are using my information and identity to scam and fraud people and for them to continue they need to know everything about me to insure that they can make it seem as if I am the person doing the scams or fraudulent activity

request we call concerning Home warranty policy A2H2168960.

Received “final notice” to update Home Warranty by postal mail.

Agent on phone said they were selling home warranties.

Mailed me a letter stating my car warranty expired and they would extend my warranty for 4 years. I sold that car 3 years ago.

Knew it was a scam. Just reporting it.

I have been receiving phone messages about our car warranty expiring and now received a phishy letter from “Richard Thomas, program coordinator of Vehicle Services Division”
