BEWARE OF HOUSING SCAM.
SCAMMERS NUMBER: +1 (412) 657-6504
SCAMMERS ADDRESS: Harrisburg, Pa.

Advertised on Trulia, the scammer pretended to be a homeowner looking to rent out his property. He listed the property located at 1221 Harding Dr as $1600 with all utilities included and pets allowed. The pictures only included photos of the exterior of the property, all around.
The first red flag was after we gotten in contact with, “Paul”, he said that he was the owner of the house and that he was doing a move in special. He stated original rent was $2400 but if you signed the lease by the 1st (within 8 days), you’ll get $800 off the rent until the lease was up. Meaning first year rent would be $1600. However, by the time I went back to Trulia to check the commute time, the listing was gone. “Paul” sent the application through text message, from the number 412-657-6504, told us to fill it out and get back to him. Told him id get back to him tomorrow and he said the property was move in ready. I filled out the application and he said he’d get back to me shortly. I reached out to see if I was approved or not and he said I was. Second red flag was that I got an alert of a new listing on Trulia for 1221 Harding Dr going for $2400 under completely different owner, including more legit pictures (interior and exterior of home) and no pets included.
The third red flag was that the application needed front and back of id, social security number and a selfie with the id. “Paul also wanted an application fee (after he already said the application was received and approved)before I even saw the house. I did a search on the number and it popped up as a known scammer. He has done this to multiple people. I didn’t send any money, however he has all my private personal information. Currently doing steps for fraud prevention and making a police report.

BEWARE OF HOUSING SCAM. Advertised on Facebook, the scammer pretended to be a homeowner looking to rent out his property. He listed the property located at 623 N Shepherd Ave as $1200 with all utilities included. The number listed on the Facebook post does not work so I messaged his Facebook account (which has since been deleted) I was looking to move and thought the place would be perfect. It was a show yourself unit with a lockbox so I went there and looked around. At first the key wasn’t coming out so I called the number on the “Rently sign” (remember this cause is the important part) Fast forward I started messaging him on his number about moving in and while all this was happening he was always urging me to pay the deposit and fill out the application. I ended up filling out the application and leaving valuable identifiable information with him. After the application was filled out he again started urging for deposit so thankfully I used my 5 senses and called the number i had that was listed on the sign at the house. The ACTUAL owner answered and informed me that IT WAS A SCAM and that her real estate company has been trying to find the dirt bag who has been impersonating them. Luckily no money was stolen but valuable information was given. Please BEWARE
