- Lakewood, CA, USA

On 1/11/23, I received an email for a job opportunity to work for the Finance Manager as a remote Administrative Asst. She sent me a detailed job description, including rates of pay for the one month probationary period and the full time rate once training assignment was successfully completed. I signed a contract and provided other information as requested, such as account # and routing # for direct deposit. I was to report to her every morning and evening once my workday was finished. She supplied me with training assignments and we communicated daily. I was to be paid for the first month on 2/24/22.She greeted me every morning and acknowledged receipt of my email. My workday started at 9am PST. She would proceed with my daily assignment. I completed each task as asked and sent her receipts of the transactions. The last time we communicated was on 1/23/22. On 1/24/22, there was no deposit made so I reached out to her. She never replied and I have not heard from her since. I am attaching one of the two receipt copies because I am not able to upload both files. Each total $100. I have copies of the contract and many other supporting documents as well.

I applied for a marketing assistant position at Bettis Brothers Sand and Gravel. "Jerome Bettis" reached out to me and said that the marketing assistant position had been filled, but he had an executive assistant position open right now if I were interested in that. I was interested in that position, so I replied that I was. He gave me the details of the position, and stated my pay up front. He then said we would schedule an interview, which got delayed and never happened. So, instead I answered a few interview questions over email and got the position. He sent me over a contract that looked very legitimate and stated everything a normal work contract would hold. I had other people look at everything he had sent me and what we talked about, and everyone said it looked legit. He then said he would be sending me equipment since the position is remote. He stated that the authorized distributor was going through an audit process, and the only way they would be accepting payment is through money orders from the post office. I was wary of this because why not just have your accountant pay the distributor directly instead of a brand new executive assistant. But I had not given out any sensitive information, so I decided to go with it. Then I received the check for nearly 5 thousand dollars, and was instructed that 700 of that was my payment, 2350 of it was to go to the authorized distributor (which the name was never given of who the distributor was after asking numerous times), and the rest would be used for other tasks. I saw no harm in depositing the check as none of the funds had been used or sent yet. That is when my bank contacted me saying they were 99.9% sure this is a scam and to not do anything with the money.

Alex Getschel reached out to me via email about a job opportunity, he sent me an employee contract and application form that I signed. The first two emails from him were very professional. Afterwards he sent me a employee verification form signed by him.

They had be doing data entry/personal assistant job. They sent me numerous personal addresses of individuals and phone numbers and a random banking info to put into Wise.com. There have been minimal phone calls, no video calls. Only conversation through email or messaging service.

- Dallas, GA, USA

I received an email from a Courtney Anderson about a job I did not remember applying for. I was told to download an app called Wire for a phone screening interview (text only) with a Mandy Skye. 2 days later, I was offered the job and sent documents for onboarding. This included a form for direct deposit. Immediately after the email, I got a phone call from "Courtney" saying to fill out the form and send it back, and they would not tell me more information about the job until I sent the forms back. The pay was incredibly good, 10 days pto, holidays off. Job was completely remote and they said they would need me to get a new phone for work but they would cover the cost. They also said all other equipment would be provided. When I called the number back, it was a google voice number.

Received a text message on 3/17 from an Elizabeth Pearson on the recruitment team on Bio Health Pharmaceuticals after they viewed my resume on CareerBuilder and wanted to set up an interview. They then informed me that the interview would be conducted over the Wire Secure messenger app and to install "Wire" from the App Store. In the meantime, they also sent an email stating the interview would be over Skype and to download the Skype app along with the name of the person (Adams Wyman) would be conducting the interview. Rather than download any apps I used Skype through my web browser and found Mr. Wyman. I then started the chat. I have the chat conversation copied to a word document and at the time I felt it was odd that they interview would be over the chat function rather than using the camera. I've had many meetings and interviews on Zoom/Skype or other forms of digital meetups and they have always been "in-person" not on a chat. That was my first red flag.

The Interviewer claimed to be an Adams Wyman. I looked that name up as through as many avenues as I could find and I found an Adam Wyman affiliated with Bio Health Pharmaceutical but the first name was without the "s" and Adams was just an odd first name. Red Flag #2. By the end of the interview I was accepted for the position, given instructions that I would need particular software, etc. but that I would not be the one purchasing any equipment needed in order for me to do my job. Instead, they would be sending me a check overnight through FedEx and once received they would give me specific instructions as to what vendor to use. This was supposedly a "test of trust." And I would receive an official offer of employment letter as well as a W4 form. I was to sign the offer agreement and complete the W4 and send those back immediately (neither of those I have done)

I received the offer letter through email and that was from Mrs. Joan Gray, Head of Human Resources/Managing Director of Bio Health Pharmaceuticals (I looked her up through LinkedIn and she is head of HR but with a company called Radius Health - that company name did come up during the interview when I questioned that on one of their "benefits" it stated that Radius Health was an Equal Opportunity Employer, the response was that Radius Health was an affiliate that they also worked with, I let it go at the time).

The first FedEx was not received and I was notified by them that they would be sending another package out. That was received and the check was in the amount of $4990 with a "Fund Management Instructions" drafted by the AP/Financial Officer Mrs. Rena J. White. This letter was just printed on a blank sheet of paper when I would think something as important as this should be printed on some type of letterhead. Her "official email" is [email protected] (so far none of the email addresses are from biohealthpharmaceuticals.com or any variation of that such as biohealthpharma, etc.) She also supplied a phone number of 906-256-4084. Red flag #3-4, all of the numbers so far are in the US rather than Australia. Reasonable to think that they have offices in the US but still... Then the clincher was an "Important Notice: Disregard any message informing you that the payment manager has resigned or has left the payment department or giving you a new email to contact other than what you have above, any information of that nature is false. If eventually this letter is shredded or you did not respond to the email on this letter, NOTE: The payment will be returned on payment and you will be held responsible." HUGE RED FLAG AND FINAL STRAW.

I am now going to as many authorities as possible to report this.

They first emailed as an hr recruiter for Amazon using this email [email protected]. They claim to be offering a job where you quality control packages that are shipped to you. They asked me to follow their website link and fill out my information. After giving my address and phone number, they said they would contact me for an interview. However what they are describing for the job sounds like a parcel mule scam and there is no information about this company or job listing anywhere. The website they provide had barely any information or specifics and there seems to be no connection to Amazon anywhere.

The scammer contacted me the same way the first person (who reported this) had stated. Same email format, content, & everything. I had gotten the email yesterday March 23rd because I applied on the 22nd. I did my best to research the company, number & everything, but got very little information. I even tried searching for anyone who might've reported this already, hence why I was hesitant to report it myself first. I would lke to add that I got a voicemail from the same number 518-629-5030 at exactly 11:27am today, the 24th. The person claimed to be Rina Silverman & her voice sounded Indian or Middle Eastern. I wanted to give the company FBADept the benefit of the doubt but now I'm fairly certain this is a scam site for packages. Not trying to throw around allegations of any kind, but these types of companies might just be the reason why packages go "missing" in transit.

I was contacted by email and sent a video editor questionnaire. I answered questions and then received another email saying I got the remote job and was told about the pay and benefits. They wanted my full name and address. I asked them to send their phone number first so we could talk about the job they offered.

They approached me with a job offer, said they saw my resume online, asked me to apply and sign a contract before even interviewing me. They also asked for direct deposit info, as my first training assignment was to transfer me money, turn it into crypto currency, and use that to buy office supplies. They used the Telegram app instead of real phone numbers. Sent videos to prove their I.D. but when asked about the legitimacy of their company they got defensive and deflected. Looked up the website through a trusted source, found it was only registered this month, and had the address and phone number of known scammers.
