Around November 2019 I received a phone call from someone saying they were from Microsoft saying they were deducting $299 from my account for servcing rendered I told them that i did not have have a microsoft services account. They transferred to another person for a so called refund and that I needed to go to my computer to open up my accounnt for the refund. Which i did which i found out was a mistake.

He said he put $300 back into my account which turned out to be $4000 then he said i would have to pay it back via gift cards so he sent me to various places to get gift cards for the max i could get up to $4000 and stay out of my account for 24 hours. I checked next day and $4000 was taken out of my wifes savings I called him and told him $4000 was missing out of my wifes saving and he said he would try again this time he told me that he put $3500 in to the checkings and again i needed to get gift cards which i did and stay out of the account for 24 hours.Which i did. The next day I noticed it was also taken out of the savings account and put into the checking account. I tried several times to get money back to no avail I contacted the police took a report and said i should have recognized the red flag but i was very tired and did not recognize the scam. The bank also said since I took money out on my own for the gifts cards that i was a willing participate. I know nothing could be done I heard about this on the radio Sunday last weekend that I wanted to warn other consumer to beware of this scam

I received a call from my own phone number with an automated voice saying they were from Microsoft and my IP address has been compromised and was being used in fraudulent activity and I need to speak with someone to get more information about my account activity.

Receive follow up phone call from person who claimed to be with Microsoft and said that my internet access had been hacked. Tried to sell me internet protection. Received second call (person called himself David). First call at 12:43, second call at 1:27 CST.

ID was my own phone number (2 times). Said they were Microsoft and needed to change my IP address and some other one. I asked on what? They said it was on my computer. I said I didn’t have one. She then said then it was on my iPad. I said I didn’t have one of those ether. Then she disconnected.

They posed as Microsoft employee. Gave ID number. They said I have a refund coming because of the service change for my laptop. They asked for my bank account number because it needed to be electronically deposited. They said they can send it Western Union. Then you noticed that they had taken out $227 from my account. It went to Carmen *** *** picked up the money transfer. This was in Cambodia. I have received text alerts that money has been debited from my account. They tried it for 2 other names for the same amount.

I was sitting in my office at 9:16 am yesterday when my screen turned blue and white with a message from Microsoft to call 800-642-7676. My computer wouldn't let me exit the screen. I called. I spoke to a man who asked for remote control access to my computer, which I gave him. He tied up my computer running super anti-spyware. I also talked to Naz Adams at 833-622-8344 ext. 302. I also talked to "Jack Wills" from "Wright Patt' Credit Union"'. They all sounded Muslim. They said they found a $12,000 charge from PornHub in China. They told me to withdraw $12,000 from my bank account, so the hacker won't be able to get the $12,000. After the money was withdrawn, they wanted me to buy gift cards, and give them the security numbers from the bank. He said don't buy more than $500 at Walmart. He said keep going to Target and Best Buy, "Tell the clerks you are making home improvements". I said "This is too confusing, I'm going to the bank". He said "No, no, no, you must not talk to anybody... do not contact your bank, friends, or family while we locate the hacker". Then he said, "Stay with me on the phone while you go to the bank"..."don't tell Wright Patt what is going on, you maybe talking to the hacker". I've taken my computer to Best Buy, closed my credit union account, filed a police report, reported to ScamPulse.com and frozen my credit report.

Caller wanted her to go to her PC (which she told her she hadn't connected in 4 yrs). He then wanted her to go to anyone's PC and type in her address. She told him "if you have my address, then why don't you just send me my money?" She was going to get $399 bc of a subscription she took out. He said the Geek Squad was going to give her the money. He told her Microsoft was going out of business and that she had a refund coming to her.

Her parents who live next door are also receiving these calls.

They call themselves Microsoft but in the voicemail they say Microsoft is going out of Business and will call themselves Online Service Center. They're saying I have a refund coming to me. In order for me to get it, they need us to get on the computer to verify or do something.

My boyfriend and I were on an adult website when a Microsoft alert popped up onto my computer it said that my information has been compromised and my identity was also compromised and gave me a Microsoft number to call. I could not get out of the pop-up alert And it looked like it was very legit I ended up calling the number and a customer service representative came on the phone from Microsoft he asked me if I had been on an adult website and I said yes he asked for my information from my computer. He then asked my age and when I asked him what he needed it for he said I need to know if you’re a minor on adult looking at child porn then he said that hackers are using adult sites to get peoples information in my information was being used illegally for child pornography I started to get very upset and asked if this was a scam he very reassuringly told me it was not and he was here to help me from Microsoft. He made me feel bad about being an adult website even though I am a grown 32-year-old woman, he shamed me and was very very rude I should’ve known right there that it wasn’t real but I didn’t. He told me he needed to gain access to my computer so that he could stop the hackers being told that my identity was being used illegally and my IP address was being used for child pornography I gave him access. He pulled up what looked like correct information and showed me how I was hacked and what was being hacked he then pulled up my IP address and it said my information was compromised and right next to it, it said child pornography. He was very convincing and scared me the information was right in front of me I thought it was real. He told me he could stop the hackers and stop them from collecting my information he then told me that in order for him to do this I need to pay $200 I told him I did not have the money and he said well I guess you do not take this seriously then. He started shaming me for being on adult websites and told me that thing how I was already doing something bad this is what happens he again demanded that I had to pay $200 or he could not stop the hackers And he was going to report my IP address to the authorities for child pornography. I told him I could not do anything as I am not employed right now and he told me that there was nothing else he could do either and I would be contacted by local authorities within 48 hours. He still had access to my computer when I hung up with him I was able to take a screenshot of one information he provided that showed my identity was being compromised. I try to save it on my computer but he over took it and I had to unplug it right away. I started researching what happens if a hacker puts child pornography on my computer, will I go to jail, what do I do now. He was very convincing that my IP address would be reported It wasn’t until I went to the actual Microsoft website about scams and read information and felt like a fool because I was totally just scammed. Now my computer does not work, I have to reinstall everything and I’ve lost all of my information my pictures in my data dat it wasn’t until I went to the actual Microsoft website about scams and read information and felt like a fool because I was totally just scammed. Now my computer does not work, I have to reinstall everything and I’ve lost all of my files, pictures And will have to change passwords and try to get onto everything that I had. I now know in the future to be careful of what adult websites I go to and not to fall for it if something like that happens again. Now I am worried if any information He got is going to cost me,And I think I need to contact local authorities just in case my identity was taken.I have spoken with a real Microsoft agent and there wasn’t much information about that situation only how to reinstall Microsoft 10.

I received a pop up on my screen saying that my computer was blocked because of something illegal and to call 8554603515. I called and got Auston *** who worked on my computer for quite some time and I gave him permission to get into my computer. HE told me I had been hacked and that someone was going to drain my accounts. He told me that he could set up a digital banking account through Microsoft and take my money out and hold it for a couple of hours. I did not trust that so I declined and just removed my money from my bank account. I talked with Auston *** again and he told me I needed add a security system to my computer and to my phone system and to go to walmart and get 2 gift cards for $200 each and to call him back. I asked if he could just take the funds from my bank card and he refused to take the info off of my debit card saying that it was for security of my card numbers. I did as instructed and was told that the $400 was only for my pc and phone and that it would be another $200 for a security deposit. At this point I realized I was being scammed.
