Amazon Imposter Reports & Reviews (1289)

I received an email that an iphone 13 pro was shipping to Florida. I called 877-351-2514, person was talking about my IP address being compromised from 9 domestics states and 27 International Countries. Asking me for my names. providing me with my home address. Person also said I have a $6300-credit card with Amazon and its currently being used.

Received email stating I purchased a Dell Alienware Area 51M Gaming Laptop. It is to be delivered to Tony R Hamby 2278 White Avenue, Corpus Christi TX 78476 - purchase order #171-25324003-6252031 - Amount $1154.53

I have not purchase no such equipment.

This particular company has been emailing my elderly in-laws my elderly dad and us stating that they are Amazon which they are not. Email says we ordered something expensive to cancel call this particular number within 24 hours I'm receiving the email. Then you call the number then they try to fish information out of you that they should already have if it was truly Amazon fortunately somebody was there to handle the situation before both my in-laws and my father gave out any personal information.

We received an email from "AMAZON" that said we owe thousands of dollars for " "computer hacking equipment". They spoke in thick foreign accents and incited my husband to anger when they referred him to a bogus customer care sight that would only take the "so-called" charge off if he got a gift card. My husband thought I bought something erroneously and yelled at me and made me talk to them. I was yelled at by them and was told to "get the [censored]in card!" I carefully explained to my husband I would not and why. My husband slowly realized that I was right. Its a scam!

On Jan 10, 2022 at 2.19 pm I received a call from 540-235-6889 saying that they were from Amzon customer service team, and they have noticed an iPhone purchase on my Amazon account worth $1400. My card associated with the account was charged. When I said I couldn’t see any such transaction, they said that the bad actors are probably masking that is making it unable to see this. For them to securely submit the claim and refund me the money, they would need to send it over via a secure connection, for which I need to download a software. They provided me with the link and I followed the steps. The asked me to fill in a Google doc form with my name, address, last 4 digits of the card and the amount $1400. They asked me to hit submit, and when I did, they asked me to read out the confirmation. The confirmation showed that I will be refunded $14,000. They said I may have made an error, which I didn’t, but they insisted it was on my part, and the simple solution was that they would let me keep the $1400, but I would have to refund the rest. By this time, they provided me an option to talk with the supervisor, Peter. This Peter send me the picture of his Amazon job ID card, which had amazon prime logo on top, from the number 501-594-2514. Peter then asked me to log into my card account, to check that indeed they have transferred the money and I could see the amount being credited. This Peter was on the call with me the entire time.

Now Peter says that Amazon needs the money back, and it has to be B-2-B (between two business units) and I can’t possibly pay them personal, since that would be a violation of the tax agreements. The way I can do this would be to purchase gift cards - Amazon, GooglePlay, Apple, Target, Sephora, Nordstrom or vanilla visa card - either the same kinds or a combination of these, $500 on each to make up for the $12,600. I said I don’t have that much amount of purchasing limit, and he said it would be fine if we could get half of that, to save me from any trouble. I need to take my card and my driving license.

I went to Stop&Shop, Target, ShopRite and CVS to purchased 3 Target, 1 Amazon, 2 Nordstrom, 1 Sephora and 3 vanilla visa cards, each worth $500. After this, my credit card company have frozen my account (thankfully), and I told Peter that I can’t purchase anything anymore. They said they would call back again the next day (Jan 11, 2022), and they are disconnecting for today. Throughout the call Peter kept on saying that the call is being recorded and not to put him on mute, since that would affect his ratings with his superiors. He also said he appreciated the effort that I was making and would try to compensate me from his own salary. I was frustrated by this time, and I disconnected the call.

I started getting a bad feeling about this a couple of hours later, and did look up on Google to see if this was a scam, and realized I was scammed.

I received a real-looking email from Amazon.com (Receipt Confirmation to blackerbyjj, bcc: me)

indicating purchase of a $2,000 TV. While trying to figure out the purchase and cooperating with the "Amazon representative," I finally decided the caller wanted credit card information. Already having the last four digits of my credit card, she needed the expiration date. Although I ended the call, three hours later the scammer sent another email that appeared more authentic than the first. Since the incidents, I have reported the scam to Amazon and cancelled that credit card number.

At first, I had not noticed the sender's info:

"Receipt Confirmation

11:18 AM (5 hours ago)

to blackerbyjj, bcc: me"

I just received a call on my home phone saying they were with Amazon. I had an outstanding bill of $961. This is upsetting. I just got out of the hospital. I don't buy anything from Amazon. I don't even know Amazon. I do not have the phone number that called. I could not tell if it was a live person or a recording. Caller wanted me to do something. I said no. I said I am calling the Better Business Bureau and hung up. I assume this is a scam. I thought it was best I hang up.

Amazon called to state that bank card was used to purchase a $1400 phone on amazon.  No transaction has been placed on my debit card.

They wanting my bank account information plus email and got upset when I only gave my name and phone number which he had because he called me.

Do not know person it says sent to.

Sent me a email. When I opened it said it was a invoice for a Amazon purchase.Had a name that wasn’t mine. At the main bottom of the invoice had a phone number to call if I didn’t not purchase the IPhone 13 Max. Call the number to get a refund. I called and them there wasn’t a purchase on my account for $999.00 told me it wouldn’t show up for 24 hrs and that’s why I need to cancel it right away. Told me to go the App Store on my iPhone and type in deskscam. I told them I wasn’t doing that cause it would give them access to everything on my phone. Said she was going to to call ScamPulse.com to make sure it was safe. Well needless to say they hung up on me. Be careful of what they want you to do.

Automatic caller said I owe for product that will be delivered and my Amazon card will be charged. I did not order anything from Amazon. I hung up, blocked the number and am turning in the report.

The automated messaged says that someone tried to purchase an iPhone 11 on my Amazon account.

The number called with an automated number saying I had a fraudulent charge on my Amazon account. I asked to speak to a rep. I asked that they remove me from their scam list. The person hung up on me. I then received 3 calls in a row from the above listed number. The gentleman said “please take me off your scam list” and hung up on me.

I received a call with an automated message identifying the caller as a worker at amazon. This person said my Amazon account had been hacked, that an iPhone was purchased using my account and to hold for the next agent who would help me freeze my account and collect my money. No such thing happened and I was not hacked.

The caller then advise me to pull up a website and they will walk me through the steps to claim my order. When I refused to do it the caller threaten me stating they will sue me.
