Amazon Imposter Reports & Reviews (1295)

Got an email that was for an order that was purchased to my amazon account.

I called the number on the email.

Talked to someone that said they cancelled the order but found a bunch of hackers to this account . . . some from US and some from overseas (China and Russia)

I believed them because my daughter is on tick tock and buys a lot of stuff from websites all over.

They said I needed to purchase an Amazon purple gift cards from a list of stores so they can use it to track the hackers.

I went to Rite aid first which didn't have any of the "Purple" Amazon gift cards. They said I could get a google play one but it needed to be for at least $200 which they would automatically refund and it would show in my account with 24 to 48 hours.

I did that, and had to give them the trans action number of the receipt along with the card info.

They did that then said they closed out all of the hackers but the ones from overseas. Can't believe I didn't catch on from there.

Then I proceeded to purchase two more cards . . . one from Best buy and one from Walgreens . . . both for $500 each.

After the 2nd one, I started questioning the guy who said his name was Alan. I told him to hold on the line so I can call Amazon and confirm . . . he said OK . .. gave me his extension and name and he would hold while I called them. Stupid me believed him figuring if he was giving me his name and extension along with holding that he must be legit.

Then I got home and he said they still couldn't find the last hacking from China and wanted me to go out and buy $400 worth of Ebay cards. Then I knew it was all a scam. I freaked out on him and he got mad telling me I was insulting him. I can't believe I didn't figure it out after the first one.

Now I am out $1200. We work so hard for our money . . . and there's people like this out there that have no problems stealing from others. Now I don't have enough to pay my mortgage and/or my daughters tuition for this month. I have reported this to the FTC, my bank, the stores that I purchased the cards from. If there is anyway anyone can compensate me it would be greatly appreciated . . . and if not, at least CATCH THESE [censored]TY PEOPLE . . . it's just so upsetting . . . and worse on how stupid I feel for falling for it 3 times.

I'm calling to report a scam call I just received a my home phone. It was a recording. They were from Amazon. Going to charge my account $1200 for a phone I ordered. I have never ordered anything from Amazon. The recording stated to press a number to confirm or cancel the order. It disconnected before I could press a number. I called Amazon to make sure they don't have a record of anything. The phone number in my caller Id was 216-873-9030. I tried to call the phone number back. Of course it said the number cannot be completed as dialed.

I answered a scam call on my cell phone. The same call came in last Friday and Saturday. At first it was a recording. My Amazon account has been compromised. I pressed a number to speak with someone. A man came on the line. He said my Amazon account was compromised. He asked me if I had a laptop. I said no. Then he wanted to know if I was on a smart phone. I said yes. He said you can go to Google. I said I'm not doing that. I hung up. They called from two different phone numbers. I answered the calls because the phone numbers were similar to mine. The numbers in my caller ID were 216-324-7379 and 216-324-3951.

I just received a scam message on my cell phone. If my cell phone does not recognize the number, it will not ring through. It was a recorded message supposedly from Amazon. I could barely hear it. Something about $99 for services. Press one to speak with an Amazon Service Manager. I did not press one or call the number back. I already have Amazon Prime. The phone number in my caller ID was 567-244-0776 Norwalk, OH.

Caller said someone had made purchase. When I said It wasn’t me he said it was someone from Ohio. He wanted me to give him information. I said I was going to call bbb it was a scam. Then he hung up.

I received an e-mail from what appeared to be Amazon, notifying me that my order had been processed. I didn't order anything from Amazon in almost a year, and I never ordered the item that showed up on my doorstep. I received follow up e-mails that my order was shipped, a survey on my experience, and the final one stating that my payment was denied and demanded payment. They asked for the last two digits of my credit card number. I haven't responded to any of these e-mails, but it is completely fraudulent. There are several e-mails associated with this scam. Message left on my answering machine reporting that Amazon had a charge on my credit card for an amount which I did not recognize. If I did recognize the charge I am instructed to just hang up and the item would be delivered, however, if I did not recognize the charge I was asked to call 4, 2, 4, 2, 5, 5, 5, 0, 8, 4.

I went through Amazon customer support and the a representative stated that it is a scam. Amazon does not call customers unless you go to Amazon's website and ask for them to call you. Someone is trying to get your personal information.

Called for help with amazon person named Richard had me go on computer to give me refund. Told me to check my bank account for refund. He then proceeded to threaten. I hung up called bank

Receive email supposedly from Amazon.com that a purchase was made that we did not do. They said I needed to go to the grocery store and get a 200.00 Google play card that would verify our location and then they could block all the un-authorized purchases and the card I used would be re-imbursed and when they said they now needed a 500.00 security card (Gift card) I got suspicious and called Amazon and found out it was a scam.

it about my sister. my sister begin to received unknown or mystery package from amazon that my sister didn't order. first package July 27,2020 swimming earplugs no information and no receipt, second package August 1, 2020 social distance sticker or pad for the floor no information and no receipt, third package August 5, 2020. 2 picture frame with warranty card included instruction about warranty and email address. I received a call on my answering machine saying $249.99 had been charged to my visa account and I should call this number immediately: 1-802-783-2353. It was from Amazon and if I did not make this purchase I needed to call. I had made no such purchase but I didn't call. Does Amazon do this? I think its a scam.

I called this number to talk with a tech from amazon.com to solve a problem I was having with my amazon account. the scammer asked me to let him into my computer which I did and he also asked me to give him my credit card number, which I also did.  He told me to fix my account problem he had to buy some phone cards and then cancel them and that would fix my account with amazon. When I hung up and checked my credit card account, I noticed the scammer used my credit card number after I hung up and charged over 300.00 dollars on my credit card to buy the phone cards for some video online games. I know that I was naive in believing this scammer so I realize that I have to just accept the fact that by my trusting this scammer as an amazon tech I lost 300.00. I wanted to report that this company of Get Human is dishonest and for the ScamPulse.com to investigate them and stop them from stealing from other innocent people. Thank You.

For 4 weeks now I have been getting packages shipped from Amazon, that I did not order....coming from China. A total of 10 low cost cheap items. Last pkg was addressed slightly different.

Contacted Amazon, no way to verify tracking info. Was told to keep or give away.

I was contacted on my cell by +1(786)3053566 on 7.27.2020 at some time in the morning with an automated message saying "This is Amazon. There has been fraudulent activity regarding the $200 gift card you recently purchased." [I had not purchased an Amazon gift card - so I ignored it]. I was contacted again on the same day at 3:46PM by the same number and receievd the same automated message. I called back and spoke to a lady who did not give her name. She told me my Amazon account has been compromised and they will reverse the charge to my credit card. She told me the purchase was made in Houston, I live in California. I asked to send me an email recounting the report before we continue with anything. Again I asked for her name and she did not provide it and hung up. I called back repeatedly until someone answered also saying this was Amazon. I asked for his name and employee number and he hung up. I call back again several times and while I was doing so I received a call from another number, +1(202) 9324699. I continued to call both numbers until someone answered, who turned out to be the same man who I had spoken to before he then said this was "Domino's Pizza would I like to place an order?" I told him I am reporting these calls and he should be ashamed of himself and get a real job.

I have received one a month for the last 3 months. In each of them, I am thanked for shopping with them and that Amazon will send me a confirmation when my order ships. The estimated shipping date given in the email is only several days from when you receive the email. Each time it was for a computer and each was to be shipped to different addresses in other states. The amount ranged between $1,000 - $2,500. First time I panicked and called the number given. I was told I had to go to Walgreens at this time and call the guy back. He gave me his first name - I think it was Josh. He said that he would tell me then what card I had to get and then they could take the charge off of my account. When I got off the phone, I thought about it and then checked my Amazon account. There was no charge for a computer. I did not go to Walgreens and about an hour later I saw on caller ID it was him again. I did not answer. However, every month I am getting the same email but a different computer at a different price being sent to an address but no name on the address given.

Three random Amazon packages showed up to an old address of mine. I did not order any of the three items (one package contained a collapsible dog bowl and water bottle / the second package contained a support belt/ the third package contained hair clippers). I did not order any of these products nor was my credit card charged. Upon looking at my Amazon account there is no history of these orders either. From what I researched online the scam is called “brushing”. I have updated my password and security settings in my Amazon account and will call them.
