IN DECEMBER AFTER BUYING A BOUSTER FROM NETGEAR I HAD SOME PROBLEMS TO INSTALL IT HAVEVER WITH THE BOOSTER I HAD A PHONE # INCLUDED TO ASK FOR HELP. I CALLED THE NUMBER AND THE GEEK SQUAD TECH SUPPORT RESPONDED AND HELP TO RESOLVED THE INSTALLATION HOWEVER THEY HAD TO ACESS MY MAC TO DO IT. WHEN IN MY COMPUTER I WAS TOLD THAT I HAVE A LOT OF PROGRAMS RUNNING ON MY COMPUTERS AND THEY WERE TAKING INFO FROM ME. THEY TOLD ME THAT I NEED TO HAVE A FIRE WALL TO STOP THAT AND THEY WILL INSTALL ONE AND A LIFE TIME PROTECTION FOR LIFE WHICH I DID FOR $499.499.99 HAVE THEY INSTALL ANYTHING ???.HOWEVER ON MAY 11 I RECEIVED new invoice for $299.90 for protection 360?? I call them (866-216-0304)

to be told that was a mistake and they need to access again my computer to remove the new product. Stupid me I allow it and I one point they ask me to log in my bank account to refund the $ naturally they were looking for my bank account # because their invoice was only an invoice they didn't have to kn ow my bank account they only they have to do was to cancel the invoice. After arguing with the technician he told me that I need to talk to his supervisor, this arrogant person told me that it was a normal procedure and that if I wasn't complying he will charge me $899.99 right away for loosing their time . This company Geek Squad should be flagged and police should be involved because they are scammer that access your computer to access bank account and other personal informations.

I received this email today claiming that I had ordered something and to call them if I needed to dispute it.

- Jessup, PA, USA

I called this number 3 times. This man hung up on me when I suspected to be fraud. I then called corporate which is also listed under Best Buy. Corporate states that this is a fraudulent account. They are trying to tske money out of my account which I never authorized. I haven't had this type of service on my computer for over 10 years. The man wsnted me to go on this computer so he could access my account which I never initially had. He also ststed that funds were to be taken out of my account. I called my bank also about this and they were going to charge me money to stop payment on an account that I never authorized. This us not fair to me because I am being charged for something i never authorized. I am in between a rock and a hard place, because its not my fault

Email says money taken out for firewall! I never ordered this product! Called them! They wanted me to go to my computer! I hung up! I am not going to give them anything!

Under name of Geek Squad, emailer informs me that protection plan subscription has been renewed for $350 and to call 337-252-2085 to cancel. Upon calling, I was asked by so-called manager to access Team Viewer to process my cancellation. When I said I was using phone and could not, manager changed his tune and gave me a cancellation number. Both email numbers 337-252-2085 and 802-214-3243 answer as Geek Squad cancellation hotlines.

- Meridian, ID, USA

The email said they are charging me $426.46 for a product I did not order. It is supossed to be a one year contract to monitor my computer.

I did not request or order this product.

- Eastlake, OH, USA

Email received 4/19/2021 attempting to notify of an online charge of $299.00 for some supposed security software. Called the "customer service number" about cancelling this charge where the person (not identified) proceeded to insist that he had to access my computer to be able to cancel it, never answering my questions why. I gave no personal data of any kind.

- Marietta, GA, USA

I was sent an email as billing team [ from [email protected]] thanking me for paying subscription for geek squad. There was a number to call to cancel the subscription - when i called the number 2015783964, someone called Steve Wilson [ obviously a fake name] asked me to download team viewer and give my personal information. when i confronted him, he disconnected the phone and called me from a different number [6197869193] and was very inappropriate with me- catcalling and trying to flirt.

I hope they get caught and brought to justice.

kind regards,

Received an email from "Geek Squad" yesterday, March 18, 2021. It says that your subscription will be active in next 24 hour. We have charged your $199.99. Please note this order no. for future use. Your order number: OD12748755584. If you want to cancel your subscription Reach us immediately Geek Squad. Customer Support Number 1-734-412-4425. I called the number they gave and requested a cancellation and money back. They said the only way to get reimbursed was to go to our online banking and they would return the money they supposedly charged. After getting the online banking on, they then got into our system and showed that they deposited $32,000. I saw what was going on and asked to remove it immediately. They said the only way we could return their money was to send a wire transfer to Bankgkok Bank Public Company Limited: Swift Code: BKKBTHBK: Bank Address: 333 Silom Rd, Bangkok, Bangkok 10500, Thailand: Account Number: 694-057-4178: Receiver Name: Kanlaya Suanset: Home Address: 31 MOO 7, Bueang, Phetchabun, Thailand: Amount: USD: I then had my husband on the phone with myself and the caller. We refused to continue with the process. We told them we were going to report the incident. We believe they had access to our account. So we froze our account and contacted the 3 bureaus to inform them of the problem.

What else can a person do to protect themselves from anything else happening? Thank you.

I received a letter that said we will auto renew your plan and charge $499.99 against your account. They gave me an order customer ID number and the phone number to contact if I wish to cancel and signed it the US geek squad customer service. This is a scam! Do not respond to the email hopefully the Better Business Bureau can catch these guys for us.

We were contacted by E-mail. We called the number on the e-mail to cancel and were told he needed access to our computer to cancel our

service.

I continue to receive emails stating that my subscription was successfully renewed for my anti-virus computer protection for $499. I never ordered this service and I have no clue who they are and they are wanting to verify my credit card number as my computer is compromised.

Received an email that I would be charged $485.00 (direct debit) for 6 month renewal of order 4729-42C3-9297. I was to call 1 814 631 5005 to cancel. Cancelation via email unavailable.
I did not call as I was suspicious - hopefully I will not see a charge. Wondering if I should put a hold on all credit cards and bank account. [email protected] JoAnn

Comsumer received a notice on computer approximately 2 years ago. Consumer called a number and provided gift card information to pay for the service that the computer "needed". They wiped the computer clean. This month consumer got a notice via email for a renewal from Geek Squad (not same logo as national Geek Squad) that they were going to charge consumer's card for a renewal for the computer. The recent notice was for $499. Consumer is not familiar with a computer service from the company nor that the consumer gave any financial information. Consumer called the number on the notice and there was a lot of background noise. They requested her credit card information to refund the renewal charge. Consumer was hung up on when consumer went to get card. Consumer has contacted financial institution and no charge is currently on account. Consumer believes these are unrelated but does not know. Consumer lost $500 two years ago but lost nothing currently.

This fake email came from [email protected]:

"Good Evening Customer,

We have received your renewal order 165D-4155-84D5 for next 365 days and are currenly processing it. We have charged $497.00 for the same. We did not get through to you despite calling your no multiple times.

For any query and support on this order please call on +1 863 201 4939. Cancellation via email is unavailable."

When I called the number and gave them the order# (was not giving them anything else), they said I'd already been charged. The location associated with the phone number is China. They do not have any of my information and I did NOT open the attachment in the email. My email provider blocked the images in the email. I'm not sure what would have happened if I downloaded the images or opened the document, but this was 100% scam.

I have never purchased anything from Geek Squad and have no knowledge of what this letter refers to. I will be monitoring my bank account closely to make sure I am not charged for anything I haven't authorized.
