received a phone call with a recording that the irs was filing a lawsuit against me and to call the # back. I called back and gave the a fake name. Person with indian accent gave me many # for the irs file case and his badge #, said this is a recorded call the the authorities will have the recording Irs and city police. Read what he said was an official affidavit on how I defrauded the irs from 2009 to 20014 and they are going to arrest me unless I pay them 987.00. I then proceeded to ask him what address he has for Bethel Ford (the fake name I gave him) he said he is not allowed to give out in other information but I can pay them 987.00 so the police will not come in and arrest me today.

We had two messages on our home phone answering machine telling us that the IRS is suing us for tax fraud, gave phone # to contact. So Mrs. called and talked to Logan Howard, gave his Federal Badge ID as IR36298605. Was told we were audited for 5 years from 2010-2015 and listed four counts of false info we had given, told her we owe $6,350.00, if we pay now, or we can go to federal court in Washington, D.C. with the IRS which could cost $30,000.00 or more, asked if we could go to our local court house and was told no, has to be federal court house in Washington, D.C. Mrs. asked if they would just send us a bill as we don't have the whole amount right now, and was told no, they need a credit card payment and how much could we pay. Mrs. knew this was a scam from the get go so told Logan Howard we would hire a lawyer and go to federal court. That is when he hung up.

People claiming to be the IRS called and said I owed money and that I had an arrest warrant out for me. Tried to get me to go the a local store, get a money order and that a sheriff would show up and pick it up.

I received a voicemail from someone claiming to be Officer Albert Fox, a Federal Agent saying that I owed $3,000 to the Federal Court. He told me I could go to the court and and see the offenses, but if I went down there I might get arrested. He then asked me what I could pay today. I told him I could not pay anything today. He told me that if I hung up they were going to do what they need to do.

They called and said they were from the irs and I've been given 8000 for personal use and how I would like to receive it. I led them on and said cash in a Walmart transfer. They told me to get an iTunes gift card in the amount of 250 and as soon as I pay at the counter it would be released. I'm not stupid. I played along just to get the info to give to u all. Please stop them!!!!

They said the IRS was filing lawsuit (said lawsweet) against me and I needed to call immediately. I tried to call back but they wouldn't answer. I have a voicemail they left for me saved.

I answered the phone and an automated voice was talking about the serious trouble I am in with the IRS and to immediately call them back. I did that and gave them a piece of my mind and hung up. They didn't get a chance to sell their whole scam. I have received IRS calls before but at that time didn't know that I could complain to the BBB. I have never lost any money, because the media warns us often enough about these kind of things. As a matter of fact my co-workers and I had fun telling this person off. To your question about the scammer taking money: He didn't get a chance to ask.

I RECEIVED A THREATENING CALL FROM "THE IRS" AND WAS TOLD TO CALL 1-844-819-8486 AS I HAD BROKEN THE LAW AND WOULD BE PUNISHED UNLESS I RESPONDED QUICKLY. AS SOON AS I HUNG UP THE PHONE I RECEIVED ANOTHER CALL FROM NEXTIVA 217-697-0261 SAYING IT WAS A CONFIRMATION THAT I HAD RECEIVED MY WARNING.

OUR PHONE NUMBER: *** AND OUR PHONE NUMBER IS LISTED IN THE PHONE BOOK UNDER THE NAME OF ***, MY HUSBAND WHO DIED SEVEN MONTHS AGO.

Caller called my wife aand she pretended to be an IRS agent and told my wife there was a warrant for her arrest. My wife hung up on her.

The person said that the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me and I needed to call #206-596-0962 to provide information to dispute the suit. It made no sense to me and was clearly a scam. I did not call the number but I felt it should be reported. I called the Escambia County Shreriff's Department and was instructed to call " Florida Scam Tracker" at 850-429-002 to report it.
